The blinking power light means there's a hardware problem, probably with the power converter. You'll need to get it looked at. Sorry.

Bought it in 2008, now it comes on for 90 seconds then goes out. Probably a bad inverter or power supply board. Are parts available for this monitor?

Hello,

Is it the screen that goes blank or the power of the monitor? is the power led button on?

If the power led button is on, and it is the screen that goes off, this indicates that the picture board of your monitor is malfunctioning and will need to be replaced.

But if it is that everything goes off, it means the inverter is bad and will need to be replaced.

For the parts, yes, Being HP is even advantage, because virtually, most service centers do have the parts

Just walk to any hp service or any service center within your vicinity to get them.

Take care

Hi, I have an HP Pavilion DV7 laptop. When I turn on the computer everything seems to be working but the screen is blank. Blank meaning black and/or colorless without light. Thanks!

Borrow a monitor and plug it into the side of the notebook to verify that the computer still works. If it does then the screen has gone out.

My hp pavilion f70 flat panel lcd monitor comes on and works fine with a beautiful picture...for about 1/3 of a second. then it goes blank. any ideas how i can fix this or what might be wrong?

Hi:
The symptoms you describe, pretty much diagnose a failed High Voltage power supply board problem in the monitor. This is usually cost prohibitive to repair, as LCD monitor prices have dropped a bit, so your monitor is beyond economical repair.

HP proliant dl 360 g3 error code 1611 cpu fan failure

Remove all 6 fans, and then remove the fan rack itself. Then tighten the 2 pcb thumb-screws underneath. I believe this is sometimes the reason for false 'failed fan' reports.

HP Pavilion F1503 1503 15in Flat. screen blanks out constantly

THis is a problem of the invertor board. If you are technically able you need to disasseble the monitor and resolder components around the red or yellow inverter transformers.

Hp flat screen monitor

It's probably your dc power supply.

Mine would blank just 2-3 seconds after power-on.
I pulled this monitor out of the garbage - someone threw it away. I found any old 12vdc power supply I had laying around (1 from an hp scaner 1250mA, another rated at 600mA) neither could supply the current (amps) required to run the backlights, therefore backlights shutdown, monitor goes blank--monitor stilled powered on, but black.

I tried all of the disassembly, re-solder various solder joints on the LCD Inverter board and removing the heat/magnetic shield from inside the back cover of the monitor. Nothing worked.

I bought a Segate 80gb external hard disk drive that came with a 12vdc power supply, looks like a typical laptop power supply, rated at 3A (3000mA). Plugged it to the monitor, it powered up, and it works flawlessly.
