Its a mouse proble.
disable the mouse pad in device manager
and used a real USB mouse.
works 100% on any Laptop made in last 10 years
avoid XP as it hates, USB devices, and is DEAD NOW.
that is correct this PC you have is just desk stand version of laptop
and all the bad things too.
why not , use a real keyboard and mouse,
if that works, and will, you leaned what. the wireless toy fails.
its got a battery replace that in the wireless input devices.
or defeat it. and use real mice, and kbd.
$20 you can own both, USB devices.
I see 3x USB 2 ports on the rear, use those?
ever use DEVICE manager. in the CP (no OS stated)
but see that? kill the wireless mouse dead, click DISABLE
then plug in a REAL usb mouse, and use that.
or get a new battery for the old mouse.
pick one, infact learn to do that every time the battery fails
grab the real mouse and use it to finish your work and save
the fix mice.
the CP has mouse IC, on some OS, you can disable it here.
or like my HP, it has, this option, under mouse advance
when users plugs in real mouse, kill died this mouse here.
not saying you have that, because NO OS STATED.
and some mouse drivers are old and lack that nice feature.
IF you are using something that has a touch pad on it, chances are that you are hitting the pad while typing and the cursor jumps to the wrong spot and lays down letters. I have also see this happen with shortcuts too. Try covering the touchpad with cardboard and typing.
SOURCE: my laptop keyboard is typing different letters and numbers
It sounds like your keyboard is starting to go. Try plugging a usb keyboard and using that. If your keyboard needs replacing, it may be around $50, but that will depend.
SOURCE: i cant undo the fn key on the mini note
You should be able to turn off the built in numeric keypad by pressing the fn key and the num lk simultaneously. The num lk is directly above the +/= key. If after doing this you still find you only momentarily turn off the numeric keyboard then there is another underlying issue. At that point you should take your unit to your area HP repair center.
SOURCE: keyboard not working properly
Suggestion for you it is not that hard to open the keyboard turn the key board up side down remove the all the screws and the bottom cover will pop up. have a acohol and swab just clean the keys contacts on the board I do this so many times and it work and save you money.
SOURCE: numbers are appearing on my key hp board when i
This means that your function key is active. To turn it off make sure you have your num lock on and make sure your scroll lock is off.

Get
online
and got to www.google.com In the google search box type: "HP
Support" or "Compaq Support" (without the quotes and put your
manufacturer name before Support).
Look for downloads and drivers. Enter your model number and operating
system when requested. Look at the links on the webpage and there will
be one for warranty or configuration, specifications, etc. They will
require you to put in the serial number and part number located on a
sticker on the bottom of the laptop. Serial number will have S/N: Part
number will have P/N: followed by a series of numbers and letters.
