Your camera almost certainly has a lens error, this is such a common fault that I hope you don't mind me pasting my stock generic answer below. No point in reinventing the wheel!

Stuck lenses are probably the most common reason that compact digital cameras get thrown away, but there's a fair chance of recovering use of your camera again

The fault is commonly caused by dirt or grit blocking the mechanism, or due to it having suffered a recent fall. Another common cause is that the camera was in a pocket or bag and the power button accidentally activated and tried to open the lens against resistance. The mechanism may have simply become dislodged or there may be parts which have broken.

If your camera is still under warranty and has definitely not been subject to misuse then contact the Jenoptik service department in your country to find out about a free repair. If the warranty has expired though a professional repair will far exceed the cost of replacing your camera. You will therefore have nothing to lose by trying to fix this yourself.

Please click here and you will be taken to an excellent article provided by the Camera Repair website. For the most part, you'll be guided on how to physically manipulate your camera to try and clear the fault. Although the article mentions Canon a few times, the advice applies equally to all cameras with lens errors and is not model-specific.

If the link doesn't work then cut and paste the following address into your browser:-

http://camerarepair.blogspot.com/2007/12/fixing-lens-error-on-digital-camera.html

Good luck, I hope you manage to use this information to fix your camera, or at least are able to use the information to help decide whether to buy another camera. If you do decide that you have to throw your camera away then don't forget to remove the memory card as it can be used in other devices. Please take a moment to rate the free answer I have provided for you and any testimonial which you might wish to add is always welcome.

When trying to turn the camera on, the lens will not extend fully. it extends partially, and then the camera turns itself off, leaving the lens in the partially extended position. you have to try and turn...

Unfortunately, many cameras that fall prey to lens error problems can only be corrected by professional repair. But, here are some last resort troubleshooting steps that you can try that may correct it. They only seem to work for less than 40% of the lens errors, but if the camera is out of warranty (or repair cost approaches that of the camera), they're worth that try.

I have a hasselblad 503cx. when i hit the shutter button, the back part of the lens opens (where the film is) but the lens shutter is closed. when i let go, the lens opens and the back closes.

The proper order of exposure should be:

Curtain opens/Lense stops down (unless wide open)
Lense shutter closes
When releasing button, curtain closes
When winding, lense shutter opens

If this isn't what's happening, something is wrong. There is only a simple mechanical screw connection between body and lense, so it'd have to be an issue with the gears in the body.

Canon Powershot A510 - lens covers stuck

A stuck lens cover is a fairly common problem, but it is normally easy to fix. A single grain of sand jamming the cover mechanism is normally the culprit, and you want to try to dislodge it. There are many non-invasive techniques that people have come up with to accomplish this. Some may be seen on this blog article. You can also open the lens barrel up to fix the covers, but only as a very last resort. The article also gives examples for this type of procedure.

F EEwhen i put the camera on don`t shut

This means one of two things:-

1. You have not set the lens to it's smallest aperture before fitting it to the camera body; or...

2. The EE servo coupling post on the outer edge of the lens mounting flange on the body has broken off. This is a switch which senses when the lens is set to it's minimum aperture. Looking at the camera body, with the lens removed, it's at about the eight o' clock position on the outer edge of the body lens mounting flange.

1. is easily fixed:just fit the lens correctly. 2. Really needs a professional repair, but as you can get a used F60 (N60 in USA) for free these days (FreeCycle/Freegle) it's not worth doing: just fasten it permanently in the "activated" position. Do a bit of googling and you'll see what I mean.

I hope this has solved your problem, if so please rate my answer.

When I turn on my camera the screen is blank

Do the icons show up on the screen or is it totally blank?
Can you view previous pictures?
If the icons show on the screen then have a look into the lens to see if the shutter is closed over the inner lens. you may have to adjust the zoom to bring the inner lens and shutter mechanism up close to the outer lens to get a better look.
If the shutter is covering the inner lens then it is stuck and will need to be freed by opening the camera up.
If the screen is just black then it just may be possible that the ribbon for the screen has partially slipped out of it's socket on the main board.
If it comes out all the way then the camera should not even power up.

Shutter stays closed on bronica 645 etr medium format

Have the electronic shutter checked by a repair shop. Sounds like your Seiko electronic shutter has died or there's a short somewhere between shutter and lens. Hope this helps.

Mamiya RZ 67 lens is stuck on body

This is likely because the shutter has not been cocked all the way. Return the lens to the fully locked position and advance the film with the lever all the way down to reset the shutter. If it still doesn't work, move the lever to M for multiple exposure, make sure the back is aligned and trip the shutter release. Then fully **** the shutter again by pressing the advance lever down fully and again until it is reset. Then try to remove the lens again.

Canon digial camara, have picture is black

Black picture = faulty lens shutter. If lens shutter is always in closed position, no light can enter the camera lens. Replace camera lens part.

50mm C lens issue

From your description, Yes. All RB67 lenses have common problems, usually sticky blades. Since there are 2 sets of blades, (shutter and aperture), the shutter blades may be contaminated with oil/debris
