With the door ajar created lots of moist air into fridge need to check fan that feeds the fridge ---the freezer air is what is used to cool the fridge when doors are left open moisture turns to frost / ice and builds up in and on fan stopping it or restriction flow some times u can get lucky and catch the problem before fan burns up [causing need for replacement ]usually to or three screws access the fan check for function dont touch wiring or blade if ice build up unplug unit and with a hair drier defrost ice so fan can turn freely than make sure that air flow is clear to fridge plug in and check for cool air if fan not running will need to test fan may have burnt up and needs replacement

When a refrigerator door is left open the freezer will continue to run to keep it cold and since it can't cool an open area it will freeze up on the inside, to resolve this you will need to unplug the fridge and open the freezer door and allow the freezer to thaw completely, once it is thawed you can plug it back in and everything should go back to normal after a 24 hour period

Why won't my fridge cool properly

This happened to me also, I had to let refrigerator defrost all the way by unplugging it. The lines that carry the freon had frozen so they were not circulating properly. I had to buy ice and use coolers for food, then wait till next day before plugging unit back in.

Suddenly, the temerature of the refrigerator and freezer went up to the point that the ice cubes and ice cream melted. Sounds like the compressor is working. I may have left a door ajar for quite a few...

try unplugging it for a day a so to let the evaporator coil defrost. When left open for long periods the evaporator coil will build too much ice blocking air flow. You might have apuddle of water under the fridge after the melt. -->

This is s top freezer type. the bottom door was left ajar for several days. freezer seems to get cold but the bottom doesnt get cold.

Shiut down the fridge and let the fridge defrost off maybe about 8 hours. When the door was left open there could have been frost build up in the evaporator and blocked the vents.
So once the frost has been cleared off the fridge can be switched on to perform well.

Need to defrost fridge completely for about a day then switch on again. Possibly door was left ajar on freezer, or auger motor iced up due to product being to close to outlet..

We left the freezer door open all night by accident two days ago

I turned the fridge side off on mine, and left it overnight (last night!). This morning there is frozen stuff in the freezer. I think the compressor motor just needed ALOT of time to cool down b4 it would work properly again

Refrigerator compartment not cooling

If you are sure the fan in the freezer is running and you don't feel any air flow out of the top middle vent inside the fridge section, then the damper motor must be bad. The damper motor is behind that vent cover inside the fridge section.

Fridge not cool

the coil is frosted over and no air is being pushed to the fridge it may clear up after a few defrost cycles or remove the food from the freezer and allow it to thaw completely (12hrs) the ice behind the back wall takes a long time to thoroughly melt or you will have soild ice instead of frost and then it will never thaw soild ice.
