Sponge bob DVD player will work on a regular TV but will not show up on the sponge bob tv anymore. Also tried a different DVD player and only get a blue screen. Shows AV then AV then tv or something. It is not connected to any cable or antena. I only want the DVD player to work again. I never used to see AV1 then AV2 it just went to AV and came on. Any idea what is wrong?

    The one I have is a model SB313. I do have the manual, so I will try to see if this applies to mine.

    My remote doesn't have a TV or DVD mode. It says AV IN where I am supposed to select the DVD player's mode. I get AV1, then AV2, then channel. All 3 only show a solid blue screen. Nothing like I used to see. Do you know anything about this model SB313?

Your Emerson Sponge Bob's model will be SB350. It is a TV/DVD combo, with two AV inputs too. You ahve to see only DVD player with it as you says. You can change its mode to eiter TV/AV or DVD/TV by its remote control buttons. Press the DVD/TV mode button on the remote control to chage the modes to TV or DVD. On DVD mode, you can play DVDs with it. I thinks that you have its user manual with you now. Go to its pate [23] where there is illustrations for which button on the remote control handset should be pressed to select this. If you haven't its user manual with you, send your email address to me by FixYa comment box. I'll send a copy you the user manual to you by return mail. OK.

First thing I would check is that you are playing regular DVDS and not BluRay. Your TV may be old enough not to accept BluRay. If it doesn't work with a regular DVD then you most likely have a bad reader which can be replaced but you will have to take the tv apart to get to it.

Try using another brand of DVDR (cheap ones tends to cause porblems in regular DVD players) and burn at a slower speed.

I called direct tv and i cant find the brand of the tv on it to get it programmed to direct tv remote
Probably a "sponge Bob" set? look carefully at the back of the set---all sets sold must have a label on the back with: MODEL NUMBER, SERIAL NUMBER (NOT IMPORTANT) AND MONTH AND YEAR MADE.

Sometimes it is on the bottom but rarely and it is in s m a l l print.

Also ask your provider if their remote has a search mode for codes where you can enter codes on at a time to find one that works.

The DVD player is running a movie with no picture or sound, the TV screen is showing an icon that says no signal...How do I get the movie to run with sound?
try using a different input on your tv. If possible try using a different cord to hook the dvd player to the TV. If neither solution works it sounds like a faulty dvd player.
also try using a different source on the tv like another dvd player, cable etc. etc. hopefully on the same input to make sure the tv is working properly .

DVD Player doesn't work on DRC6355N VCR/DVD Combo
With most dvd/vcr combo units there is separate wiring. When I use my emerson combo unit I have it wired that I have to be on different inputs on my tv to view a dvd and a vhs. On some units the vcr portion is wired via a regular cable line, while the dvd portion is wired with the yellow, red, and white component cable. Try inserting a dvd and scrolling through your tv inputs until you find the picture or check your wiring to ensure nothing has come loose. If that has no result you could try wiring it differently if possible to eliminate that as a possibility.

You DO NOT use "Channels" to View a DVD player it usually connected to the AV External input. via AV, Yellow, (Video) Red & White, (Audio) or Component Video, Blue, Red & Green. (Video) + Red & White (Audio). These are selected via the External Inputs.

Get the RCA 4 device universal remote from radio shack. model #RCR4383N $10.00. It wouldn't work using the emerson codes in the manual. Let it find the code automatically. input button on bottom will switch to and from AV input.
