I have a teac pl-d2000 home theater system. When I put in the cd, it plays the trailers just fine. When the movie starts, you can hear the background noise but the actors are almost mute, just a very light garbled sound. I have lost the manual. Thanks!

Turn on the player for about an hour untill it heats up and then play the disc. Most probably it will work. If not you will have to replace the lens or card.

that simply demonstrates how little I understand this... does that answer apply to a different, non-TEAC remote? I have tried numerous codes - following the instructions on a universal remote - but none of them work.
