Check that the chain brake is in disengaged position by
moving the front hand guard towards the front handle.
Remove the bar nuts and remove the clutch cover (chain
brake). Take off the transportation ring.
Fit the bar over the bar bolts. Place the bar in its rearmost
position. Place the chain over the drive sprocket locate it in
the groove on the bar. Begin on the top edge of the bar.

Make sure that the edges of the cutting links are facing
forward on the top edge of the bar.
Fit the clutch cover (chain brake) and locate the chain
adjuster pin in the cut-out in the bar. Check that the drive
links of the chain fit correctly on the drive sprocket and that
the chain is in the groove on the bar. Tighten the bar nuts
finger-tight.
Tension the chain by turning the chain tensioning screw
clockwise using the combination spanner. The chain
should be tensioned until it does not sag from the
underside of the bar.
The chain is correctly tensioned when it does not sag from
the underside of the bar, but can still be turned easily by
hand. Hold up the bar tip and tighten the bar nuts with the
combination spanner.
When fitting a new chain, the chain tension has to be
checked frequently until the chain is run-in. Check the
chain tension regularly. A correctly tensioned chain
ensures good cutting performance and long life.

Can you use a husqvara File Kit on a stihl chain saw

files are a specific size for a specific cutter... You need the right file for the chain... As for the "file kit" I have no idea. Wherever you buy your chain from will let you know exactly the file size. If you were to mention the chain specs here we could help as well... But your answer would be yes, the chain has no name, a file as long its the right size for the cutter can be used on any brand of saw... Oregon Outdoor Products makes 90% of the chain and bars used in the industry today

The chain keeps falling off my brand new Poulan sixteen inch blade chain saw

It is possible they gave you the wrong chain for the saw. I would take check the manufacture to see which chain you need then check the numbers on your chain. Other thing it could be is the washer on the clutch may be missing. Either way, it is a new saw, I would take it back.

I have a Husqvara 550 chainsaw. After chain popped and I put it back on, the chain won't move. It's on the gear and everything. Is there a brake or something preventing the chain from mov

There will be a chain brake, grab the brake handle and pull it firmly back to the top handle, this should didd engage the brake, if the chain has de railed the drive lonks will have burs on them which will make it tight in the bar, you need to file all these burs off.

How do i change the blade in my bosch 700 pae saw

Do you mean pole saw? DISCONNECT PLUG If so you change it like you would a chain saw, loosen the bolt(s) at the base of the bar on the engine and put a screwdriver in the slotted area near where you loosened the two bolts and the chain will loosen and come off. To put new chain on, reverse but leave 1/8 - 1/4 inch play in chain. Pull on chain at the middle of the bar to set chain tension. Good Luck...

If it's a cut off saw there should be a motor lock on your motor, UNPLUG UNIT. Depress the motor lock lightly and rotate cut off wheel by hand until motor lock falls into place hold motor lock and loosen bolt in the center of the wheel you are trying to remove. Reverse instructions to mount new wheel. Good Luck...

How do you put a new chain on A 3516

Hi there,
The first thing you need to do is clean up the saw with air,be careful around the bar oilier because they get plugged up if your not careful.
Look for two studs on the right side of the saw, there should be nuts holding the bar down. They may be under a cover.Loosen them up but don't take them off.Look for an adjustment screw on the back of the bar and back it off about 1/2 an inch. Those bar nuts should be just loose enough so the bar can be slid back 1/2 an inch.Look at the chain on the bottom of the bar the sharp part of the teeth should be pointed back at the motor.Take the old chain off with gloves. The saw should be on its side with a block holding the tip of the bar up level.Put the new chain on the drive sprocket first then have someone hold the saw while you put the chain around the nose of the bar. There is a groove in the bar that guides the chain as it moves around the bar.At this point turn the saw upright and grab the nose and pull until the chain slips into place and tighten the adjusting screw while moving the bar up and down so it will be straight when you get ready to tighten the bar.The chain should have 1/8 of slack in the chain when pulled away from the bar.Pull the chain by hand with a stick(the way it moves when you cut) to see if it binds any where on the saw or bar. You can do the whole operation with the saw in an upright position if you want.I hope this is clear enough for you.Thank You for choosing FixYa.com.

Can i upsize my chain from a 14 inch to a 16 inch i have a 14 inch mcculloch and i want to put a 16 inch bar and chain on it. it is a 35 cc engine

There will be a 16" option, however things to remember, you will have a drop in power, so you need to keep the chain sharp, the oiling system will probably on its limit.

How do i remove links in my power saw chain to make it the proper size. It's a new chain that's the right size for the bar .073 but is too long. I have an Oregon chain break and a shop to do it in. Do I...

Yes they sell links for that at the saw shop. You file the head off two rivets in the chain to remove however many links you need then install the connecting link. If you're not sure how many to remove, take out one at a time putting the connecting link in without bradding the rivets. Put it back on the saw and see if its still too long. When the length is right you brad the end of the rivets that come with the new link.
