I bought a Line6 M13 stompbox in the US and brought it across to South Africa. When i plugged it in using a Line6 PX-2 power adapter and an international converter....the pedal worked fine but started to smoke and made a poping noise. i then switched it off before it got any worse. Can you tell me how to fix this problem? is it a voltage issue?

The PX-2 should work fine as long as you are on 120 or 110 volt service. If you have 220 volt power, you have done damage... likely to the PX-2 and probably to the power input circuits of the M13.
If you are on 220, then you need to use a TRANSFORMER type voltage reducer before going to the PX-2. If you are on 220, then replace the PX-2 and take the M13 in for service replacement of parts where the power comes in and is regulated.

How can i tell which version my m13 is. just bought it new

The easiest way is to call Line 6 at (818) 575-3600 and press 2 for Service. You will find getting info from them much easier if you register your new product with them.

Whywont my px-150 wont turn on after storm?

Sorry to hear about your grief. Obviously, the problem is either inside or outside the instrument. If it is inside, you need more technical help than I can supply. However, before you seek out sophisticated assistance, there are a few simple tests that may identify an outside-the-instrument problem. First, check for power in your wall outlet. Unplug your instrument power adapter and plug in a lamp you know to be working. If the lamp illuminates in the wall receptacle, you know then the wall plug is good. If the lamp does not light up from that wall outlet, that suggests you need to try your instrument in another receptacle, preferably in another part of your house. If you are sure you have good power in the receptacle you are using, the next thing to check out is whether your power adapter is putting out good 12 volt current. The best test for this is to use the voltmeter function from a multi-tester. These devices are cheap. Harbor Freight sells them for $4, and sometimes even gives them away for coupons to get people into their stores. If you lack a testing device, you can still check for current coming out of the plugged in adapter by creating a dead short across the output plug. Do this gingerly with a small screw driver, avoiding skin contact with any metalic item. Look for small sparks when you briefly touch the screw driver across the plug contacts. It the sparks are there, you know there is current coming out of the adapter. The absence of sparks says the adapter is dead. So, get a new one. I wish you good luck, and hope one of these simple solutions solves your problem. Once you are back in business making music, you may want to consider getting a surge protector and/or unplugging the power adapter during electrical storms. This will reduce your vulnerability to similar future grief. Truly.

Zoom MRS 1608 will not power on

I suggest checking to make sure those 2 units can actually use the same adapter and also check the polarity on both to see if they are the same. Most stompbox stuff usually has negative on the center of the socket, instead of positive like other devices. If I spend a little time I could find the manuals and find out for myself but, this was my logical "top of my mind" kind of advice. Those values (volts,mA, and polarity) must be known in order to help you further. I believe it will be 9v, a few 100 mA's, and negative in the center on both but, not sure.

Adapter polarity

Boss ME-25, use polarity like boss stompbox.
+ voltage at the ring, and - voltage at the center pin, of the adapter

I have a fm4 and used the m13 power supply,...first the second and forth lights light up then it's unresponsive?

Does it function on the batteries? It may be there are batteries in it that have leaked, or are low. Have you checked the power supply coaxial end to make sure it is the correct polarity for the FM4? Is the supply also putting out power?.If not it may be relying on the batteries. or what power is stored inthe capacitors when the power supply is attached.

You might try resetting it. the manuals are here:

Although the pilot manual you need to add the extension ".pdf" to it because they forgot to add it on their end.

Hello - I have a Boss RC-2 Loop Station. While I enjoy the pedal's capabilities, it almost always creates an unwanted hum and sometimes an electronic pulse in every amp I use it with. (I typically keep...

Make sure the power supply for this is powered from the SAME receptacle as your amplifier is powered. Keep the cable from this to the amp fairly short and high quality cable. Keep guitar away from magnetic field sources... the wall wart adapters are notorious for generating magnetic fields.

Test the adapter with a meter... Most probable cause is a bad power connector. Often the solder at the input power connector breaks loose is only problem. If you are not electronically adept, best to take it to a shop.

The Auto on my Boss RC2 sometimes doesn't seem to pick up a signal and engage. It is plugged into a multi- socket adapter and I do not have the amp turned up too loud as the room is tiny. I thought it was...

Sometimes, with BOSS pedals, the battery must be disconnected before using another power source. I ran into the same problem with my DS-1 distortion. If it's not that, then check the power rating of the power adapter. It should read, for the output, exactly 9V DC. If it doesn't, then you have to get a power adapter that has that same rating. Boss pedals will not use anything other than 9V DC (I know, I've tried).

Hope that helps!
