I've configure correctly my printer and i can print everything i want: webpages, documents... evrything! now i'm trying to print some photo on a 4x6 photo paper and i see my print work error: The size or type of the selected paper does not match the paper detected. my printer it's an HP8500A. my iPhone is ios version 4.2.1. However i use same code:http://developer.apple.com/library/ios/#samplecode/PrintPhoto/Listings/Classes_PrintPhotoViewController_m.html. i want only know if this is a printer problem or an ubuntu bug! please help me! thank U very much.

Make sure that the printing action is selected only for the right configuration and setting including the format and file type. If the file is too large to be printed it can show up as a error or an insufficient memory to back up. Alternatively you can check with another PC or reinstall the printer once again.

What type of photo are trying to print?Is it just the photo or its all printings?
Check the settings on printing preferences.
Make sure the paper's correctly loaded.
Re-check the printer connections.
Make sure you've set it as the default printer.
Turn the printer off and on.

This is going to take some troubleshooting.
Please try the following, and test after each change. Hopefully we can get this working for you quickly Verify that when you hit print it under print range that only the last page is selected.
Try printing a different document, this is assuming you've been only having the issue with one document. Try printing a different type of document, using a different program such as word, notepad, or even a multi-page website.
If any of these has worked for you then it has either narrowed it down to the specific document, or the program, re install the program in question.
If none of the following has helped.
go to start/run type cmd to open the command prompt type following net stop spooler net start spooler this will restart the print spooler service.
If none of the above worked, delete the printer and reinstall. If problem persists install printer on a separate computer to verify that it works correctly.

1.Try doing Ctrl+S and saving the webpage to your computer first. Then open the saved webpage and try printing from there. 2. If that doesn't work, try right clicking in the portion of the page you wish to print, and doing "Print This Frame". 3. If that is not an option, try using Ctrl+P instead of clicking on the print button. This should bring up the print dialog. 4. Otherwise, try using Ctrl+A to select everything, Ctrl+C to copy it, open a new Word document and use Ctrl+V to paste it. Then try printing the Word document.

I've seen this happen on several HP printers. You have to "point" the computer back to the right IP address. Go into the printer properties, under the Ports tab, and highlight the correct port for that printer. Then click on the Configure Port button below the list of ports. Next to "Printer Name or IP Address," type in the correct address -- 192.168.1.110. Then click OK to exit that window and OK to exit the Properties window and save the change, and after a couple of seconds for the IP address change to take effect, you should be able to resume normal printing.

This could be caused by a few different problems with the printer but here are some troubleshooting techniques that may help:

1. Check that the printer is able to print correctly on its own. Print out a configuration page from the printer or install the printer onto a new machine as a local printer and print out a test page. If this prints out as symbols, the problem is a most likely hardware error and the printer will need to be serviced. Try step 2 before servicing. If the printer prints normal characters, go to step 3.

2. Carefully go through the settings on the printer and review the printer's configuration page to make sure everything has the correct settings and nothing was changed accidentally.

3. The most common problem is that the drivers on the print server, or on the server computer, have become corrupted. In Printers and Faxes on the print server, delete all the drivers for the printer, reinstall them, and then add the printer again. Make sure to print a test page at the end of the add printer wizard.

4. It could be a problem with the ethernet cable so try swapping the current ethernet cable with a new one.

5. If it is still printing symbols at this point, it is most likely a hardware issue and the printer will need to be serviced.

Turn the printer off.
Disconnect the AC power.

On your computer, click Start
Click Control Panel
Click Printers
Select the Dell Printer
Uninstall it
Restart your computer
Turn the printer on
Allow the computer to reinstall the device-device for the printer.
Print a test page.

I have encountered this problem, wherein I can print webpages, excel, pdf files, but not in Microsoft Word.

I received error "Windows cannot print due to a problem with the current printer setup".

Specifically the steps under 'Delete the Word Data key'.

the driver of the pixma is set to A5 size. open it (you will find it in configuration panel/printers/) and set back to A4 size
