If your Miracle Gro sprayer is leaking, especially from behind the hose connector, there are a few potential causes and solutions you can try:

  1. Inspect the hose connector: Ensure that the hose connector is properly tightened and securely attached to the sprayer. Sometimes, a loose connection can cause leaks. Use pliers or an adjustable wrench to tighten the hose connector, but be careful not to overtighten and damage the threads.
  2. Check the washer: Even if you've already replaced the washer, double-check its condition. Ensure that it is the correct size and properly seated in the hose connector. If the washer is worn or damaged, it may not create a proper seal, leading to leaks. Consider replacing it with a new washer if necessary.
  3. Clean the threads: Over time, debris or residue can accumulate on the threads of the hose connector, preventing a tight seal. Use a soft brush or cloth to clean the threads thoroughly. This can help ensure a proper connection and minimize leaks.
  4. Use thread seal tape: Applying thread seal tape (also known as plumber's tape) to the threads of the hose connector can help create a tighter seal and prevent leaks. Wrap the tape clockwise around the threads a few times before attaching the hose connector.
  5. Check for damage: Inspect the hose connector and the area behind it for any signs of damage or cracks. Even a small crack can cause leaks. If you notice any damage, it may be necessary to replace the hose connector or the affected parts.
  6. Consider a new sprayer: If you've tried the above steps and the leaks persist, it's possible that there may be an internal issue with the sprayer that is causing the leaks. In such cases, it may be more practical to invest in a new sprayer rather than continue troubleshooting and repairing the current one.
If the issue persists or you are unsure about how to proceed, it's recommended to contact the manufacturer's customer support or consult a professional for further assistance. They can provide more specific guidance based on the make and model of your Miracle Gro sprayer and help you resolve the leaking issue.

The liquafeed did not dispense much during about 10 minutes of spraying, (Only about 1/4"of Liquafeed was dispensed.

I'm sorry to hear about the problems you are having with your LiquaFeed Sprayer. Your water pressure needs to be at least 45 PSI. If your garden hose is longer than 50 ft, this can lessen the water pressure. If there is any foreign matter or crystalization on the bottle or the sprayer where the bottle inserts, this will need to be soaked in warm water, as it may be clogging the sprayer. With the bottle of LiquaFeed apart from the sprayer, squeeze the bottle to see if any product comes out. If none of these troubleshooting steps help, please call us at 877-465-5160, and we will be happy to assist you further.

I'm sorry to hear about the problems you are experiencing with your LiquaFeed Sprayer. You can always try to soak the sprayer in warm water for about ten minutes, and wipe dry. If this doesn't help, please call Miracle-Gro at 877-465-5160.

Can I dilute Scotts Miracle Grow for use in my Ortho dial spray bottle?

Yes, you can use Miracle-Gro Water Soluable Plant Food in the Ortho Dial N Spray hose-end sprayer. Simply set the dial on the Dial N Spray to 4 ounces. The label rate for Miracle-Gro All Purpose Plant Food is 1 tablespoon per gallon of water. To make 8 gallons of finished spray, measure 8 rounded tablespoons of plant food into the Dial N Spray jar and fill the jar with water. Mix thoroughly. Set the dial at 4 ounces. When you have sprayed until jar is empty, you will have applied 8 gallons of properly diluted spray. Hilary@Scotts

What setting do I use on my ortho dial and spray for fertilizing plants and vegetables outdoors? Thanks

If you are using Miracle-Gro Water Soluable All Purpose Plant Food in the Ortho Dial N Spray Hose End Sprayer, follow the directions below :

  • Set the dial to 4 oz
  • The sprayer can make up to 8 gallons of spray. Add the correct amount of product to the jar for number of gallons you wish to make. (Example - The dilution rate is 1 tablespoon per gallon, and you want to make 8 gallons, put 8 tablespoons of Miracle-Gro Plant Food in the jar.)
  • Multipy 4 by the number of gallons you are making and fill to that oz line (Example - If you are making 8 gallons, 4x8=32 so fill to the 32 oz mark with water).
  • Prior to spraying, mix product around in the jar until granules are dissloved.
  • Spray until the jar is empty. When it is empty, you have sprayed 8 gallons of product.
If you any questions or if you are using another product, please give us a call at 800-225-2883, and we will be happy to figure out a setting for you!
