Logitech X-240 Computer Speakers Logo
Anonymous Posted on Jun 26, 2011

Hi, I just reformatted my hard-drive because I wanted to start over fresh on my computer. However my computer detects no audio devices, I was wondering if there were any drivers involved with these speakers, or anything like that. Any help would be useful, thanks :)!

How to reformat a flash drive

Hi jabbbbbb6,
The Cruzer Micro is a flash storage device that connects to your computer's USB port. It comes in various sizes and fits on a keychain. If you want to erase the drive, you can perform a reformat from within Windows' Disk Management utility. After you reformat the drive, you do not need to reinstall any drivers because Windows automatically detects the device.

To Reformat, please follow the instructions:
1. Insert the Cruzer Micro to an available USB port on your computer. Right-click "Computer" and select "Manage." Click "Disk Management" under "Storage" on the left pane of the window.
2. Right-click your USB drive on the list of drives and select "Format." Select a name and file system type for your drive.
3. Click "OK" to reformat the drive. Click "Start" and "Computer" to access your drive.

Rate this accordingly.

Hope it helps.
Thank you for using Fixya.

After upgrading from Windows Vista to Windows 7 and reformatting my hard drive, my built-in microphone no longer functions at all. It can be adjusted, but does not actually pick up any sound. It seems to...

Well the first thing that you have to keep in mind before reformatting your hard drive is to ensure the backups of all driver devices on your laptop. Since you already reformatted, the best way is to look up the correct drivers for the Acer Aspire. I would start looking at the Acer site. Go to this site and scroll down to the audio driver. http://www.laptop-software.com/acer-software/acer-aspire-8730-notebook-windows-7-drivers/

My laptop does not boot. it always ask for a cd to boot but i already reformat it.someone told me that it is a hard disk problem and advice me to replace my hard drive.

When the computer starts it flashes up press f2or delete or some other key to enter setup. Go through the settings and there should be one that will allow you to change the boot device. It sounds to me like it is set to boot from the cd rom drive only. Change it to boot from the hard drive and save changes to CMOS and restart the computer. The computer should now boot from the hard drive.

I have a Lacie 320gb external harddrive which was connected to an eMac and is now connected to an Acer laptop. I've reformatted it as NTFS and it shows up in disk management as healthy but does not appear...

you need to give it a drive letter

A more reliable way to do this is via the computer management console

Start / Control Panel / Administrative Tools / Computer management / Disk Management.

Your drive should show up in here.

if it says Healthy and just above that gives the file system eg. NTFS or FAT32 etc it should be fine but may just need a drive letter.

If it does dot say any of those then right click on it and use the format option. Select how you want to format it (NTFS for XP is preffered)
and then tell it to do a FULL format. and also give it a drive letter !
It may take a while but I find it more reliable overall.

If it didn't have a drive letter then right click and use the Change Drive Letter and Paths option, then add a drive letter and use the one it offers.

I like to re-boot just to be sure windows sees it properly

My system cannot detected any hard drive on

go into the bios during rebooting stage and check whether you have automatic detection of drives. If set to disabled or manual change to automatic. You may have a problem with the motherboard interface to hard-drive.
