Tip & How-To about Cell Phones

How can I reset Bluetooth Password?

When you connect two Bluetooth devices, you enter a code on both devices. Sometimes the code indicates an error and you are unable to both devices. To connect them again, you have the existing password to a different set of reset.

1. Accessing the menu of your phone and select "Bluetooth" option "Settings". Here are the devices that are currently connected to the phone. You want the password to restart the computer, click the Bluetooth icon in the taskbar tray of your computer. The list of paired devices is visible to you.

2. Select the device to which the password reset. If you restart your phone, there will be a "Delete / Reset PIN." If the option is not available, just "remove" the device from the phone. If you reset the password on your computer, right click the device icon and select Delete.

3. Re-connecting the two devices. You will be prompted to set a new password on both devices before a connection can be established. Set the new password.

trying to connect jabra BT2080 to phone. says enter passkey?

  1. Bluetooth device A looks for other Bluetooth devices in the area
  2. In order to find other Bluetooth devices, Bluetooth device A must be set to discoverable mode. When set to discoverable, Bluetooth device A will allow other Bluetooth devices to detect its presence and attempt to establish a connection.
    discovery_mode_example.jpg

You may set your discover setting off if you like (It is recommended that you turn it off when not using the Bluetooth). When the discover setting is off, no other Bluetooth device will be able to find it. Undiscoverable devices can still communicate with each other but they have to initiate communication themselves.

  3. Bluetooth device A finds Bluetooth device B

Usually the discoverable device will indicate what type of device it is (Such as a printer, cell phone, headset, etc.) and its Bluetooth device name. The Bluetooth device name is the name that you give the Bluetooth device or the factory name that originally was programmed.

  4. Bluetooth Device A prompts you to enter a password (PassKey)

With advanced devices (i.e. computers, smartphones), both users must agree on the Passkey and enter it into their device. The code can be anything you like as long as it is the same for both Bluetooth wireless devices.

On other devices, such as Bluetooth headsets, the Passkey stays the same. Refer to the product's manual for the default passkey. Most often, the default passkey is "0000".

  5. Bluetooth device A sends the Passkey to Bluetooth device B

i have nokia bh-100 bluetooth headset, i tried alot to connect with my cell as well as my laptop but i m unable to connect as while paring search the headset dont show the visibilty.kindly assist

Start with the headset turned off, and the bluetooth radio of the device you want to pair the headset to, turned on. Then, press and hold the headset's power button until the led flashes rapidly. It is indicating is in pairing mode. Now, make your device search for new devices, and select the BH-100 from the list. If a passkey (or PIN, or pairing code) is requested, enter '0000' (four zeros).
If your headset's user guide happens to be missing, download it from this location, if you want.
Hope it works for you.
Cheers! Carlos
