First time using the msr dragonfly. Can not get ANY fuel to flow out to preheat the stove. I am opening the flame adjuster valve exactly as instructed. I have the pump control valve open. I have no clue why I can not get ANY fuel to flow out. I am leaving at 4AM to head to BWCA so I really need to solve this issue or I will be forced to pack the old coleman stove. SHEWWW!! Thanks in advance for any support offered.

SOURCE: I used my MSR reactor

The nozzle on this and other canister stoves can clog. Check the manual to determine how to clean the nozzle.

Hope this helps.

How to change lower element in DeLonghi Airstream Convectio Oven

  • How to change lower element in DeLonghi Airstream Convectio Oven??

  • Preheat ovens only when necessary. With conventional ovens, keep the preheating time to a minimum. Unless you're baking breads or pastries, you may not need to preheat the oven at all.
  • Food cooks more quickly and efficiently in ovens when air can circulate freely. Don't lay foils on racks. If possible, stagger pans on upper and lower racks to improve air flow.
  • Use glass or ceramic pans in ovens. You can turn down the temperature about 25°F and cook foods just as quickly.
  • Do not open the oven door often to preview the food. Each time you open the door the oven temperature drops by 25°F. Watch the clock or use a timer instead.
  • Full-size ovens are not very efficient for cooking small- to medium-sized meals, it generally pays to use toaster ovens or microwave ovens.
  • Check to be sure the oven door gasket is tight. Adjust or replace gaskets as required.
  • If you have a self-cleaning oven, consider using the self-cleaning feature immediately after regular baking when the oven is still hot. Less energy will be required to reach the cleaning temperature. Try not to use the self-cleaning feature too often.
  • Keep range-top burners and reflectors clean; they will reflect the heat better and save energy.
  • Match the size of the pan to the heating element; more heat will get to the pan and less will be lost to the surrounding air. A 6-inch pan on a 8-inch burner will waste over 40% of the energy.
  • On electric stove-tops, use only flat-bottomed pans that make full contact with the element. A warped or rounded pan will waste most of the heat.
  • When cooking with a gas range-top burner, use moderate flame settings to conserve gas. Also make sure the pilot light is burning efficiently, with a blue flame. A yellowish flame indicates an adjustment is needed because the gas is burning inefficiently.
  • Whenever possible, use a pressure cooker. By cooking food at a higher temperature and pressure, cooking time is reduced dramatically and energy use is cut by 50-75%.

One of the gas burners will not stay on, any ideas?

    Hello;

My name is Peter. I am a retired field service appliance technician.

1.) We know it is not the igniter because you are getting flame.

2.) We know it is not your main gas valve because your other burners are working.

3.) What we do know is that you are not getting enough gas flow to maintain flame.

Each burner has a gas flow adjustment. If the burner was working fine before, then the adjustment valve may be bad (Plugged up from corrosion). Or, the gas tube from the gas adjustment is plugged up from corrosion.

Sorry, I can only advise you in general terms. You did not provide a model number so I can see exactly what you have. Not all gas stoves are the same.

Control knob doesnt adjust flame height?

Use a manometer to insure lp gas pressure is correct. The regulator for the stove may need adjusting. The air mixture adjustment may not be correct for PL as well.

    No fuel flow

The jet orifice may be plugged. If you can remove it and see if you can see light through it. If you cannot then it needs to be pricked. surely your stove came with a jet cleaning tool? To find out if it is the valve remove the gas jet and try opening and closing the valve to see if fuel flows. If it does it is the jet if it does not it may be the valve.

Atlanta Stove AIT3 model wall stove. will not light unless pilot light is held down...

Most pilot flames for gas burners are controlled by a safety valve. This model has a pilot safety valve. The safety valves function is simple, if the flame goes out for whatever reason the vale shuts the gas flow to the pilot light. The safety valve is controlled by a device that sits right next to the pilot (small cylindrec tube ( thermopile) that senses the pilot flame either by heat or dc current. To ignite the pilot light you have to manually hold down pilot light button until the the thermopile is hot enough (usually 5 to 20 secs), after that time, the thermopile will allow the safety valve to open. Check to see that the pilot's flame is making contact with the thermopile. If it is not, the pilot flame will require cleaning and or adjustment. If it is making contact, the you might need to replace the safety valve and the thermopile.

Hi I have purchased a 2nd hand Colman 431 stove . The instruction Manual wasn't with it. Looking for instructions Please. Hope you can help. Rob Tyler Toronto

I am not sure what to tell you, other than go to Colman's website for a manual. That will at least give you a parts list if you ever need it. But, these stoves are generally solid and reliable, with few things to know about.

    What I do to operate:
    1. Set up stove: lid up and wings out, tank fully pumped (works best if no more than about 2/3 to 3/4 full) and installed with nozzle firmly into the socket above the right burner.
    2. Little lever on left of valve assembly--turn upward. Open valve a little bit to get fuel flowing to burner. Give it just a few seconds then light burner with match or lighter (watch your fingers!). It should light off pretty readily.
    3. Open valve a fair bit (anti-clockwise) and let it burn for up to a minute until the flame changes from yellow to mostly blue, and mostly around the burner and not up in the air. Turn little lever on left of valve downward.
    4. Re-pump tank to maintain pressure.
    5. Use valve knob to adjust flame intensity, and cook away.
    6. To use second burner, the key thing os to remember that it draws from the same valve, so when it is on the main burner goes down a bit.
    7. The knob for the 2nd (left) burner is a little flip-out on the left end of the stove. Open slightly, and light the burner. Only do this after the main (right) burner is burning blue.
    8. Use the main valve (on the tank) to adjut the total fuel flow, and the little handle for the left burner to adjust how much of the total flow goes to the left side. (You cannot burn the left without the right being on.)
    9. Pump as required to maintain pressure.
    10. The only real "part" that you might have to strip or replace is the "generator" which is the tube from the valve across the top of the right burner. The liquid fuel is vaporized in there, and is what needs to get warmed up when you start.
