Usally you do not have to replace the pressure roller until your machine goes over 2mil. copies. sometimes it does need to be cleaned. you can clean it by scraping the pressure roller with scissors to remove the built up ink. to remove the pressure roller.1. Remove the drum2. if you look the pressure roller is held in by 1 screw on the frame of the machine. there is a hole in the frame to put a Philips (+) head screw driver through and remove 1 screw. BE CAREFUL NOT TO DROP THE SCREW!.3. gently push the pressure roller to the rear of the machine slightly then lift it up and pull towards you.
to reinsert the pressure roller line it up with the cutouts where it was removed the pull it towards you to secure it. then screw it back in.
PRECAUTIONS FOR REASSEMBLY make sure the pressure roller is well seated on both ends of its holders (front and back) and that it spins freely. if the drum does not go back in easly something is wrong.

How to replace a retarder under the paper pickuprollers on a RISOgraph GR 3770?

  1. Turn off the machine and unplug it from the power source.
  2. Remove the paper tray and any paper that is currently loaded in the machine.
  3. Locate the retarder and the paper pickup rollers. The retarder is typically located near the bottom of the machine and is a rubber or plastic component that helps to slow down the paper as it is fed into the machine.
  4. Use a screwdriver to remove any screws or fasteners that are holding the retarder in place.
  5. Carefully lift the retarder out of the machine and discard it.
  6. Install the new retarder by aligning it with the rollers and securing it in place with the screws or fasteners.
  7. Replace the paper tray and any other parts that were removed during the process.
  8. Plug the machine back in and turn it on to test that the new retarder is working properly.
Note: Before performing any maintenance or repairs on your RISOgraph, consult the machine's manual for specific instructions and precautions.

My rp 3700 keeps jamming. It is accepting too many pieces of paper. not sure what to do

Risographs being high speed printers have the separation rollers which if dirty will pull more papers in. Clean the rollers well . Isopropyl helps.

Feeding envelopes

Envelopes have always been a problem with the Riso feed mechanisms. Most envelopes have an imperceptible coating on them to allow them to stand up to outdoor conditions better. It makes the paper a little slicker and thus harder for the rubber rollers to feed.

If you want to reliably feed envelopes you need to make sure your rollers are fresh and the angle/pressure settings are exactly right. Good luck!

Hi is it? the ink for gestetner Duplicator to be able riso Duplicator. Is the material same materials? thanks yoel

Be aware that not all people would agree with my explanations ...
All inks for duplicators are nearly the same and therefore they are mostly interchangeable. Have a look at the DPI the ink is made for. Lower resolution ink may have bigger pigments and these may become stuck in the mesh of drum or the master. At least you have to fill the ink in an original bottle to use it. Avoid air bubbles!
Please weigh the risks before you continue. Techical difficulties may apply. So only courageous people should use foreign ink. - I have done often and my risographs still work very well!

Risograph rz220 paper not feeding

If paper is fluttering while feeding, what is actually happening is that the pressure solenoid doesn't activate. This is caused by paper dust on the paper sensor.
Take the drum out...notice the white guide roller on the left side inside the machine...it is held on with a white e-clip that can be removed by hand. The paper sensor sits just behind this roller. Remove with a phillips screwdriver and clean the sensor.

Risograph cylander is jammed. It is ajar but won't come out or go in. I think the film did not complete it's loading to make a master. Parts are not where they should be. How can I get the cylander back in...

The drum cylinder of any risograph has a locking position. The drum position should be locked on before puting it back on the machine. After you confirmed the proper position and tried to putting it back and still no progress you do the following.
1. Removed the drum unit from its holder.
2. Use flash light and check inside of the machine. Check a shsft in the middle part of the machine where the drum put on.
Check the position of this shaft and the position of the drum hole where this shaft will put on.
3. Try to rotate this shaft according to the position of the hole of the drum then try to return the drum and put it back again.
4. If the drum won.t go in just half way, removed the drum and check the pressure roller position, if the roller are in highest position This roller in under the drum. If you see it blocking the drum removed the back cover and released the hook lever from pressure lever. You can see this by moving the roller and you will noticed its position,

Just had the same thing happen. The ink cartridge was not completely in the lock position. Once I remove the ink, reinserted it and locked it, everything was back to normal.
