Older KENMORE 110 model 92582220. During spin cycle the water continues to trickle or flow instead of stopping thereby wetting the clothes that are going into the dryer. What causes this?

Had the same problem with a top load Whirlpool! My problem was with a black box called an "Atc-auto Load Sensing Switch" it has a small black rubber hose going to it. It was plugged up, or had air trapped! I took a small oxygen hose and blew into it, it fixed the problem! do not force air like from air hose or it could damage it. They wanted around 80 dollars for part plus it would have cost for laber to install it, I said no thanks! It is located on top of washer, behind control Panel, Console! If blowing into it doesn't work try sucking air out! Lucky for me, mine was messed up, found out mouse had got in there and started chewing wires, as the saying goes, things happen for a reason! The picture below is from a Whirlpool, Yours might look different! Note, this is for washers that are from the last Regards!

Wont start.buzzes.unplug to turn off

Possible unbalanced load in the washer. I have found this to be the case in other types of top load washers. Just redistribute the load the try again. If this works, washer is doing what it needs to do to keep from spinning madly out of control and extending its life!

Kenmore washer will fill and that it when it goes to start spinning it makes a weird noise

Sounds like the controller behind he knob is shot. May be cheaper to get a new one or look for a new used one on craigslist. If you google the model number and addparts list it should bring up a link to the sears parts list. Youcan then gogle the part # for the controller module and see what it costs.

I have a 10 years old Kenmore Elite washer. After the 1st washing process stops, I have to push the cover with my hands so it could continue the rest of the process. What should I do?

Hello,

Welcome to FixYa.

Based on the info in your post, it sounds like a common top load washer problem. Here`s how you can check it pretty easily...

( this is based on the most common Whirlpool, Estate, Kitchen-Aid, Roper, Kenmore, Inglis top-load washer, not necessarily applicable to ALL...but it includes your model)

Lift the lid, if you observe the underside of the lid there will be a plastic "strike" or "actuator" that goes into a hole when the lid is closed.

Check the hole where the actuator goes into the cabinet and insure you can see a gray oval shaped piece. If so take a small screw-driver, pen/pencil or something small enough to fit thru the small hole and try activating the switch by pushing it down ( machine must be in the agitate or spin cycle ). If you don't see it, the switch has likely broken loose and needs to be replaced.

If it start's to function than the switch is not being contacted properly by the actuator on the lid and likely is due to the switch being worn...unless the actuator on the lid is broke, if so there`s the problem.

Make sure the switch is being held in place via the two screws along the side, if they are loose tighten them, if it is broken, it will need to be replaced.

Here`s a helpful link for changing it out,

The lid switch will look like this...

Let me know what you find. If this is something you think is not within' your scope of expertise please call a pro.

I will try to help in any manner I can of course as well. Good luck. Thank you for choosing FixYa. Please take a moment to rate the info I provided and a short testimony is appreciated.

Regards,

Macmarkus :)

Washer didnt fill when turned on, but filled when holding "reset"

sounds like your water level switch is bad OR the small hose that goes from the waterlevel switch to the bottom of the tank has a hole in it.Try replacing this small hose first.you can go to an auto parts store and match it up.it's usually about 3' long and about 1/4" inside diameter and about 99cents a foot.

Washer starts fills w/water tumbles clothes for a few min. then stops and flashes f28.

I took the top and bottom panels off the washer, followed the wiring and vacume lines, and found a small hole in the vacume line. I replaced the vacume hose and started washing. Everything is working great.

Washer stops when it goes past the was cycle not rinsing

Check the door safety switch when you lower the lid. There is two screws on the right side of washer tub opening. They screw into the switch housing which is made of plastic. On my machine the housing cracked and the tab on the door could not push the switch all the way down.
