I've had my Mistsubishi 55"

I've had my Mistsubishi 55" 1080 (WS-55809) for over 7 yrs. For a couple of weeks, noticed that picture would skew (as if looking through a water drop or fun house mirror) then return to normal after a few seconds. Today my son turned it off via the button on the front and now it won't turn back on. Have tried the power button and via controls. No lights, no sound, no nothing. Is there a quick solution or will I need to buy a new TV?

The main board has an issue which has most likely blown a fuse. Those boards have been discontinued so repairing that one will be at least a couple hundred depending on the shop doing it.Or yo umay be ble to locate a used one on ebay .

My screen went out but i can still hear sound is my picture tube out ? its a 04 65" 1080 series

Your set doesn't have a tube, per se, it has three CRT "guns" in Red, Green and Blue tjat converge the colors on the screen to create the image. It is very odd for them to all go at once which means it's probably a much bigger problem that will not be cost-effective to fix. Better off investing in a more contemporary set.

Connecting PS3 to Mitsubishi WS-55809

On the back of the TV you should find three sets of the component sockets, only one can produce 1080, the one that is labeled dtv (should be the one on the farthest right of the three sets).

Mitsubish WS-55807 HDTV 55" 1080

RGB picture guns ( CRT's ) are ok. Your set needs a common
convergence circuit overhaul requiring replacement of two IC's,
part # STK392-570. Usual cost about 400.00.........T.

Looks like you are going to be working with the following:

1080i (HDTV) • 480p (EDTV) • 480i (SDTV)

Hook up depends on what else you have connected to the TV.  If you have nothing connected to the DTV component inputs, I suggest using those, as it will allow up to 1080i.  Otherwise, use the 2 other component connections directly to the left of the DTV connections.
