My Dell MFP 1815dn has a paper Jam 2. I removed the toner cartridge and pulled the paper out, before I realized that I needed to open the back. I believe I thought I got the paper out, but the printer is still giving the Jam 2 error. What is the next step to take?

After a paper jam occurs in the rear cover of a Dell Laser Multi-Function Printer 1815N, the printer will not resume when the jammed paper is removed. This is the normal behavior of the printer as there is no sensor on the rear cover of this printer.

To open the back cover and remove any stuck paper, perform the following steps:

  1. Open and close the front cover.
The jammed paper may automatically exit the printer. If the paper does not exit, go to the next step.
  2. Gently pull the paper out of the output tray.
  3. If you cannot see the paper in the output tray or the paper does not move when pulled, open the rear cover.
  4. Skip to step 9. If you do not see the paper, go to the next step.If you see the jammed paper, push the two blue pressure levers up and remove the paper.
  5. Release the blue strap, the rear cover stopper, and fully open the rear cover.
  6. Unfold the duplex guide fully.
  7. While pushing the fuser lever to the right, open the fuser door. NOTICE: Make sure to unfold the duplex guide before opening the fuser door, or the fuser door may be damaged.
  8. Pull the jammed paper out.
  9. Return the levers, fuser door, rear cover stopper, and duplex guide to their original position.
  10. Close the rear cover.
  11. Open and close the front cover.
    Printing automatically resumes.

Paper jam in exit area keeps coming up on the dell sreen

The paper jam in the exit tray indicates that there is some print media jammed near the paper output region. Removal of jammed paper is the solution to the issue. Following the steps mentioned below will resolve the issue:

1. Turn off the printer, and wait until the power supply is completely drained.

2. Open the paper tray, and examine it for any paper jam or leftover debris from torn paper.

3. Open the cartridge/toner access door, and look for any jam in the respective region.

4. Clear the jam, and reinstall the cartridge/toner. Restart the printer before trying to print from the printer.

5. Check for any paper jam in the back area of the printer by opening the back door.

Can't get it to work after a paper jam.

Inorder to remove the paper jam inside, you need to remove the toner cartridge first and then you can pull out the paper jammmed. If there is still paper jammed inside. Open the printer power to roll over and paper comes out. If still paper still there, You can open the back side of the printer to remove some paper jammed.

Paper jam ,no paper jam found Dell 1815dn

give this a try

  1. Turn off the printer.
  2. Remove any paper trays. Inspect them for wrinkled or damaged paper.
  3. Also open the back cover of the printer if this model has one.
  4. Open any other doors that give access to the printer's paper path and to the toner or ink cartridge.
  5. If necessary, remove the toner or ink cartridge. Place it away from light/ sun light to avoid damaging it.
  6. If you find a piece of jammed paper, remove it by holding it with both hands and pulling firmly. The goal is to keep the paper from tearing. If several pieces are jammed together, try pulling out the middle piece first to loosen the jam.
  7. If the paper does tear, try rotating the roller gears manually to free the paper. Don't force anything, though. Do this step especially if the jam message comes up repeatedly without any obvious paper jam, there may be a small tear of paper inside.
  8. Ones the printer is free of paper Replace the toner or ink cartridge and paper trays, close any doors you opened and turn the printer back on.
  9. If the printer paper jam message still appears, then there is still some paper in the printer. Reinspect the paper path.
  10. see alternative if the problem is still not solved.

alternative :
Load a piece of thick paper, for example photo paper and press the resume button (may be diffrent button on diffrent models) a few times to the printer picks up the paper and puts it through the machine.

Please double check if all doors --- including the paper tray cover --- are firmly (repeat FIRMLY !) closed --- seemingly all such are designed as precautionary measures for safety operations.

Laserjet 4345 mfp paper jam

13.20.00 can be also caused be a jam near the fuser (the part of the printer that gets hot to make the toner stick to the paper). Remove the toner cartridge and take a look for small scraps of paper along the whole path. Also open the door on the back of the printer and look for paper scraps from there. If you see paper stuck in the fuser, do not use anything sharp to remove it, be careful not to scratch the surfaces.

did you ever wonder why they were in the waste in the first place. ?
If you,ve got lots of them, you could experiment by swapping parts over, from the others which may have different faults.

Dell printer problem

Sounds like you may need to replace the pick up rollers on the machine.  Without knowing exactly where the jam error happens during the print process, it's hard to say.
