I own a EWI 4000s and didn't use for some time (batteries out). Now I want to play it again, but with the adapter I only get two zero's on the pannel, and the knobs do not function. Please help, thank you

My EWI 4000s started to play by its self making a loud low note and then it stop and now it won't play at all. I Reset to Factory Preset but that didn't help. What do I need to do to get it to play again?
1 Un screw all the screw on black panel, but must remember where each on goes, but Be careful not the two screws in side mouth pice which holding the pitch bend unit. 2. open the battery cover remove all the battery 3. Remove the 1/4 earphone nut, and all screws on the silver metal case. (Under the black plastic ), you don't need to remove any screws from the "key" side 4. Use something to pull the battery Cartridge sideway out from Main attachments, but not all the way out from the ewi case, because you can't, the plastic case structure will be in the way, 5. Use some flat pice metal like dinning knife insert in to between black and sliver metal to separate the two parts, start from the mouth pice end, once you open wide enough the battery cartridge can be remove from the case out. Now you can open the Ewi 4000s and see the two HX nuts that holds the strap mount, put some Nail polish on it before you tie them up.....Warning.. You must pull the battery cartage sideway out from its electric plugging mount before you are trying to separate the plastic and silver housing otherwise you will damage the circuit board. That was What I did to mine. Good luck and may God provide you wisdom for this.
hi, i have a YAMAHA WX5, and want to know if it's to use a Vocoder? Mike Phillips is the same, or if it only works with the EWI 4000s? and as a connection is made? thank you!
Without reading the manual, the easiest solution that occurs to me is to not use a cable between the audio out on the Ewi and the amp or mixer you are using. You can also set the main volume to zero. That setting does not affect the program volume.
Please try to reset the ewi. You can do this like this: Shut down ewi. Press down the four little white buttons Level, FX, Setup and Trans. Keep them pressed while starting up the ewi.
This is a factory reset.
I've got the solution.
Turn the EWI off.
Press the LEVEL, FX, SETUP and TRANS buttons all together.
Turn on the EWI.
This is a Reset to Factory Preset.
Greetings Fred Roubos.
Are you shure that you aren't touching the bend up plate with your right thumb? This isn't easy detected by sax players which are used to have a thumb rest at exactly the same spot where the bend up plate is. You might switch it off (see manual). With the bend up plate on you should aways use a tight strap which helps a bit to not touch the bend up plate accidentally. I'm still struggling with this occasionally.
