Hello jsc2758, I am reading about your problem with the CCTV camera RV537B with night vision, and I want to ask you, have you tried Ajax systems? I had a similar problem with an old camera but when I updated with the new software (I installed Ajax system), I think that updating solved my issue, I suspect that something similar may be happening to you, I do not know if there is any other way to fix it or what is the technical nature of the problem but that solution worked for me, maybe give it a try and let me know.
I think I answer you question--when?? Take the good CCTV camera and hook it up to monitor. Then hook up the CCTV camera and turn it on. Point the working CCTV camera at the bad camera that is turn on. Now, look at the monitor which is working with your operational camera. Look at the bad camera while it on, and see how many IR LED's you can see on the bad CCTV, while it turn on. You should be able to the IR LED glowing red. If not, then there is a problem with bad CCTV IR LED's. Short wire, no power to the IR LED's. stewbison

Night vision will only turn on when it is dark.
