Your T.V. is programmed to store the last input you've selected. You have to manually switch it back to your T.V. channel input after each time you switch it to HDMI or any other input even when you turn it off. The "Source" or "Input" button on your original T.V. remote will change this.

My lg flatron n2294a - PM displays an "out of range" message and won't wirk with my ps3 when using the hdmi or AV option. Whats wrong?

Your resolution on your ps3 may be too high for the tv to display. Hook up your PS3 to you TV with the HDMI cable. Now, when you turn on your PS3, hold the power button on the PS3 for 5 seconds. It will reset the PS3 video options and recognize the HDMI connection. It will then search for the correct resolution settings on the TV. Press (X) to confirm. And that's it. You should be set. If not, then the TV is acting rather strange.

Sound doesn't work in HDMI mode, just picture. I tried buying a new HDMI cord but that didn't work either. Then one night the TV just turned off and now it won't turn back on.

Likely not related but HDMI does not like being connected if either unit is plugged in or powered up.

As to the TV let me know the brand and model number and what if any lights at all come on when you plug it in etc.

HDMI/ DVI inputs failed approx. one month after connection of Denon home theater receiver with HDMI pass-through feature "on." Gear successfully re-connected via component video...

hi welcome to fixya
i want to clarify first the problem sir so as of now the problem with your tv won't power on then you are using again the old main board is that right ? when you use the new replacement main board the tv is functioning will the only problem is that the HDMI / DVI inputs doesn't work. and now you encountered power supply problem like won't start up or something that cut the supply in which the stand by indicator is turn off so as my idea it has a problem with the old board. but before you come up with the board making sure all the connectors coming from the power supply is properly connected to the main board as will as flexible and lvds cable for the T-con board is properly inserted.just let me know if is that what you are asking for so i can give you additional solution thanks for consulting the fixya.

I have a Sharp TU-T2 freeview HD set top tuner. I inadvertently set the HD output to 1080p but my TV only accepts 1080i. An error message "out of range" appears whenever I switch on the set top...

Here is the correct solution from the user manual:

Hold the HDMI button on the remote control for 5 seconds to reset the output to 1080i

Worked for me.

When I push power to turn my LG tv on I always have to go another step to input and turn to component. How can I program my remote so I can skip this step?

It depends on the model you have. I know my Samsung T.V. won't switch to an input unless there is something connected and turned on. If you have it on HDMI 1 when you turn it off, then it should be on HDMI 1 when you turn it on. If it isn't then it could be that your T.V. requires that the device using HDMI 1 be turned on first.

Connecting Ps3 with philips tv (full hd) when i got hd cable in, and click to switch so the ps3 uses hd to show things and i than switch over to the channel i plugin the hdmi cabel it gives blac kscreen

If it's the first time using your PS3, use the composite cables that came with it. Turn on the PS3 go to video settings and switch the input to HDMI. After you've switched to HDMI, turn the PS3 off and connect your HDMI cable, go back to video settings and change the resolution to 1080p. If this isn't the first time you've used HDMI for your PS3, make sure your T.V. is on the correct input. If the T.V. is on the correct input, try switching the HDMI cable to a different input. If that doesn't work try using a different HDMI cable, testing different HDMI connections if you're still getting the black screen. If none of those work then it's probably a problem with the PS3, but just to make sure try plugging something else with HDMI to see if that works. If another HDMI device works, then it's your PS3, if it doesn't then it could be a problem with your HDMI connections on the T.V.

How to tune in for blu ray dvd

You do not tune in your Bluray player but connect using an HDMI cable or Composite cable. If you have a HDMI cable connect the Bluray's HDMI out to the TV's HDMI in at the back and using the TV's remote switch the Input source to HDMI. You will see the image from the Bluray player in high definition.
If you don not have a HDMI cable connect the composite out of the Bluray player using the Yellow/Red/White cable to the TV's composite input ( same three color sockets ) and switch to AV input on the TV. Using this connection won't give you high definition image but will work OK.
