"High camera temperature"

This type of problem can be caused by either a lens issue, or power problem. The following web blogs delineates things you can try to get the camera working again. They say about 50% of the time they can be fixed trying their suggestions:

If the camera still doesn't work, you can take it in to a local repair shop, but get an estimate first. Repair can be high, and justify just going ahead and buying a new one.

Try recharging the battery. That worked for my errors.

Set both the exposure dial and the focusmode to "M" and press the shutter button. Then turn the camera off for 10 - 15 seconds. If this doesn't solve the problem, it's an electronic or mechanical error.

Error: TURN THE POWER OFF AND ON AGAIN is displayed on the LCD screen when the Lens Mechanism is stuck or when affected by any malfunction. If turning the power on and off again does not resolve the error message, try doing a power reset and Initialize option.

Performing a manual power reset

Turn off the camera.

Remove the battery pack.

Press and hold the power button for 30 seconds.

Allow the camera to remain without power for 60 seconds.

Reinsert the battery pack.

Turn on the camera.

To reset the Camera back to factory default, select the INITIALIZE Option from the SET UP1 Menu of the Camera to OK.This will set the user defined settings back to factory default. The images and videos will not get deleted.

If the issue persists, service may be required.

Have Kodak Easyshare V1253 with same, "high temp.," error then shutdown. Kodak batt. showed 25% charged. Charged batt 100% & temp. error went away. Batt. internal shows camera if batt. too hot. Try new batt.

When the camera is turned on, the lens is stuck either in or out and the camera gives the error E104 , E105 , or E106 . The camera then turns itself off. Causes These errors display because the lens will not move. There are several reasons why the camera lens might not move:

• something is blocking the lens
• the firmware version is old
• the camera has been abused
• foreign material is inside the lens or
• the lens is loose or completely off the track

Solution Follow all of the steps listed below.

1. Perform a power reset on the camera.
   1. Turn off the camera and remove any optional memory card.
   2. Hold the ON/OFF switch in the ON position until the HP logo displays and then disappears.
   3. The camera is now reset. When the camera is turned back on it should prompt for the date and time.
2. If the camera does not display an error after the reset and appears to be functioning properly, it is imperative to check and update the firmware. The firmware update corrects the lens positioning issue that can cause E104, E105, and E106 errors with the camera. Determine if an update is needed by following the steps below to check the current version of the firmware on the camera:
   1. Before turning the camera on, press and hold the Flash button.
   2. While the Flash button is depressed, turn on the camera. A Service Screen displays.
   3. Located at the bottom of the screen is an entry, F/W.

Sort of like a Windows Restart to reset the memory.

the problem of your camera is the ccd image sensor...better go to the sony service center for replacing the image sensor..i know it is free for replacing that sensor cause that is one of the model that sony recall produc and the cover not open error message is a poor contact of the lens cover switch...

This error message means that the card is corrupted or formatted for another digital camera. Turn off the camera. Insert a new card or format the card. CAUTION: Formatting deletes all pictures and videos, including those that are protected. Removing a card during formatting may damage the card.

Error Code "E50" (CF card formatting error) When a camera error occurs, an error code like "Exx" will be displayed, where the x's represent numbers. The "E50" error code indicates formatting a CF card has failed. Solution To clear the "E50" error, try performing the following procedure. 1. Try using another CF card. If you have another CF card, try loading it in the camera. If the error code is not displayed when the other CF card is loaded, there may be something wrong with the first one rather than with the camera. 2. Use your computer's ScanDisk utility to check the CF card for errors. Use ScanDisk to check the CF card for card error or card failure.
