Hello, Thank You for using FixYa. I will be helping you today. After it fills does it make any noise or hum or anything?
Thank You and please rate my answer if it was helpful..
Its obvious the unit is detecting the water from the float or the unit would over fill. And since the unit is running through a whole cycle and draining it does think the motor is running. The only thing between the motor and control is the motor capacitor. Did you check the wiring from the control to the motor and motor capacitor to make sure all are plugged in and not cut or damaged. Unplug the connection at the motor and make sure contacts are good. Since the motor does nothing no humming or anything im sure there is nothing stuck in the chopper preventing it from turning.
You might just have something stuck in the chopper! Have you taken apart the pump yet?Remove the racks
Remove the tube going up the back its held on by two clips
Remove the bottom spray arm
Remove the three screws holding the cover on the pump
Remove the six screws holding the manifold that the tube you removed slides into
Remove the impeller center screw and lift off
Remove the two screws holding the filter plate down and lift off
Now look for anything in the center of the filter plate that may be stopping the chopper from turning or anything that may be in the pump that is stopping the chopper from moving.

Hi If the water inlet
valve is fine and it fills with water then the issue seems to be with the float
switch assembly that is bad and should be replaced. Float assembly is found
inside the dishwasher's tub, on the bottom. The water that fills the dishwasher
lifts the float, and when it reaches a certain level, it acts as a trigger for
the float switch. The float triggers the float switch to shut off, thereby
shutting off the flow of water into the dishwasher. A defective switch may
interfere with dishwasher's filling and/or draining ability. Use voltmeter to
test the switch. Set the device to the ohms setting x 1. Take each probe and
touch them to one switch terminal each. This should produce a reading of either
zero or infinity. Continue to touch the probes to the terminals, and press down
on the switch's button. The reading should change to the opposite extreme. If
the switch fails either of these tests, you should replace it. Hope this helps...please post back for
further assistance. Daniel
Yeah thats why I want you to test the float switch assembly as I believe that is either bad or needs cleaning.
Please check this repair manual if you want to do it yourself....
Though I still believe that it is the float switch that is bad however as you have already checked it then check the thermostat, it is part no 32 in this diagram
Thanks for rejecting the solution....I never told you to just simply replace it without testing.....I told you to test it first before replacing.....anyways enjoy the free service/repair manual that you have for your unit. If the float switch did not solve the issue then check the water distribution assembly as that might be an issue if the spray arms are fine and clean.

The water fills and drains fine. After it fills and the water is heated, the water does not get pumped or pessureized (what ever it does) to make it to the jets to wash the dishes. The water sits in the bottm of the dishwasher until it is drained.
The dishwashe fills and drains fine. After the water shuts off and is heated, it sits in the bottm of the tub until it is time to drain. The water fills again and sits in the bottom of the tub when it is time to rinse.
What is the best way to get to it
The float switch is fine
Seeing how you were set that it was the float, I purchased a new and replaced it. Still the same problem. I can put it on a rinse only cycle and the water will still fill the tub, the heating element heats up and it still starts to circulate the water but it seems to stop there. Water does not cicrulate. I trip the door sensor and leave the door open to watch what is going on. The water just sits in the bottom of the tub. The dishwasher makes noise like it is working but nothing even after changing a good float.
Maytag Dishwasher, MDB9750AWW The dishwasher fills and heates like it should, when it is time for the wash cycle to start nothing. The water sits in the bottom of the tub and goes no where. The water will empty and refill for the next cycle. This is the solution I was given before:

I replace the flot and still have the same problem.
yes it hum
Yes it hums
All conections are good, I took the chopper out and cleaned it well. You can hear the motor running. Could it be the filter in the bottom of the tub not allowing enough water to reach the pump?
Is there any way that you could phone me at 770-474-9455. Something looks broke but I'm not sure
