I have a 2000 Ford Expedition (Eddie Bauer), 5.4 with 65,000 miles. It has recently started having a hard shift from 1st to 2nd gear in a slow acceleration. I have serviced the trans filter and fluids, this has not made a difference. Isn't there something that needs adjustments...suggestions?

It's on the side of the transmission under the drivers door. The shift cable runs to the control arm it is under.

The shifter needs to be inspected. The shifter assembly is got misaligned, it has to be open and realign.

There are many other possibilities. But if it was working right up till now and suddenly this occurred then its shifter assembly alignment issue.

on the drive shaft between the back to wheels there is a plug on top if the fill and on the bottom is the drain plug a ratchet will take it out it put be hard to get off put some strength into it the had GL5 gear lube or what ever ur dealer tells u.

HAS THE TRANSMISSION FLUID AND FILTER BEEN CHANGED? IT IS DUE EVERY 60,000 MILES, TRANS FLUID HAS WHAT ARE CALLED "FRICTION MODIFIERS" IN IT, THEY WEAR OUT AND CAN CAUSE THE CHATTER YOU FEEL.

They are round "cans" with wires attached. You should have SSA, SSB, SSC, Torque converter and Pressure Control solenoids. They control pressures and have no mechanical linkage.

Could be voltage regulator or starter relay has also gone bad. Seems to be fairly common in the Bauer editions.

The blinking overdrive button is telling u that a serious fault has occurred in the electronic controls or a mechanical fault such as excess slippage is occurring.
