Thanks but the screen itself is still in good condition it's just not attached to the t.v. anymore but the plexiglass thats is broken into pieces do you think the screen itself can be reused and I just replace the plexiglass and still be able to repare it myself well my hubby can repair it. Thanks again

My screen is still in good shape it's only the plexiglass that needs to be replace because it's completely broken into pieces can the plexiglass be replaced and we still use the same screen the only thing wrong with the screen is that is no longer attached to the t.v.

Hi,

Sorry to hear about your problem, I will be happy to help. I hope you find the time and information I provide to be valuable and will honor the good faith system of this site. Please be aware the answer to your question may not be good news and the procedures that are required to solve your problem may be complex and could involve replacing parts that can be expensive.

Solving your problem depends a lot on your ability to follow directions very carefully, be patient, and continue the communication process with detailed responses. The more information you provide the better chance of solving your problem.

The screen assembly can be replaced but it is kinda expensive. $280 plus tax and shipping. If you need it installed that will cost about $250-$300 labor. Or you can try it yourself, just have to be real careful. Usually there are two layers of screens so ask before you buy if this includes both screens: http://www.encompassparts.com

The replacement is not an easy task, however the decision is completely your's.As i mentioned, even if you repair it yourself you would expect to pay around $350 ( including shipping, taxes and miscellaneous charges plus it would be 3 - 4 hours job.

Let me know,if needed further assistance.

Hope i helped you.

Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!

    Thanks for your response!!

    It is not just plexiglass.

There are 3 sheets to most TVs, some only have two.

A Lenticular screen, a fresnal screen and protective screen.

It is not an easy task. The best option i could suggest would be to find a service center near you that has some used screens.

    Thanks and Regards

Crack inside screen blue red green lines

You have cracked your LCD screen (the screen that displays the picture). The glass on top of it is called a Digitizer Screen (the screen that recognizes your finger). This is a fixable problem, but the cost to repair will depend on the phone, insurance or lack of, and who you get to repair it for you....hope this helps you some.

My RCA Bigscreen HDTV will not turn on.

If this is similar to the d52w20 then I almost garantee you need to replace a capacitor. You can check to make sure that's what you need by unplugging the tv, taking off the back cover and feeling the top of 3 capacitors. On my d52w20, CP150 (rated at 2200uf 16V) was blown and the top was bulged out. You should also check CP120 and CP114 to see if either are blown. I don't have a clear picture of where it's located, but I have a picture of what you should see after you take off the back cover.

http://i265.photobucket.com/albums/ii209/fillmore85welder/KodakMoment003-1.jpg

In the middle of the picture you see an aluminum heatsink in the shape of a 'C' with the opening facing away from you. That is where CP150 is located. CP120 and CP114 should be located nearby, but if you can feel a bulge on any of the tops of those 3 capacitors replacing them should fix your problem. Replace the existing capacitors with a higher voltage rating of either 25v or 35v.

"4 capacitors on the power/deflection board. CP110 220uf 200v. CP120 220uf 35 Volts. CP114 220uf 35 volts. CP150 2200 16 volt. also check entire delfection board for cold solder especially around flyback. bad connections here can cause problems like some of the fp fuses blowing and cutting off convergence supply"

My RCA Bigscreen HDTV will not turn on.

Thats either the flyback or the HV splitter. If the sound is coming from the rear left side its the flyback. If its coming from the front of the set its the HV splitter. They are both easy to replace. I will post a link where you can get replacements with instructions if you would like.
