Is your Headphones ok - Have you tried them on something else?

Is the plug on the headphones of the correct type and size?

If you mute the TV or turn down the volume - does this affect the headphone volume?

Also, Do you get sound out of the Headphones at the same time as the speakers?

If the above checks out to be OK - You may have a faulty Headphone socket in the TV.

Normally when you push headphones into a TV it usually pushes a piece of Metal in the head phone socket that disengages the speakers
The socket can go faulty

I have an acer iconia A500 tablet but get no sound coming from the speakers only when headphones are connected how do I get sound back coming from speakers without using headphones

The headphone jack needs to be replaced. Sound gets switched from speakers to headphone there. When the headphone plug is removed from the tablet the connection inside the jack is lost.

I have an Integra DTR 20.3. Recently, I have been getting no sound from the speakers after removing the headphones from the headphone jack. Any ideas?

Usually the headphone jack has a contact that's "made" by the 'ring' section of the jack when you push in the plug, which bypasses the speaker circuit (that's what automatically silences the speakers when you plug in the headphones when there are no switches to turn the speakers on/off manually)... if the 'ring' strip got bent somehow so it's pressing against that contact all the time, it won't let the speakers' circuit come out of bypass. Look inside the jack with a flashlight... the sideways Vs that touch the 'ring' sections of the stereo headphone plug should be about in the middle of the opening... if they're pushed over too far it may require disassembly to bend them back to the proper position.

I have a Yamaha ypp 100 keyboard that was sitting idle for awhile. When I turned it on and started to play there was no sound/an extremely faint sound from the speakers.

Try headphones... possibly the switch contacts on the headphone jack which disconnect the speaker when headpones are plugged in. If you can hear via the headphones, check the switch contacts. Also look for a loose cable.

Contacts can oxidize when idle for a long time.

Sound

Except for the Headphone jack (mini-jack) and the coax audio, all of the audio jacks are audio IN. Which jack do you have your speakers connected to? The headphone jack is on the side next to the coax connection (ANT) and the coax audio out is at the bottom of that set of side jacks. The headphone mode should automatically cut the TV speakers. The coax audio out is set up by pressing Menu and then using the down arrow to highlight Audio. Then press the right arrow button to enter the submenu. Press the up or down arrow to reach SPDIF. Then you use the left and right menus to select PCM, Digital Dolby or OFF.

I hope this helps.

I am trying to run the sound from my Packard Bell imedia x4520 computer through my Hifi amp. I think I have followed all the links on the PC regarding setting up the realtek sound for setting up external...

It sounds like the 3.5 plug is mono or the plug is not completely inserted in the computer jack (push it in until you do not see any more of the contacts). I connected one of my computers to my stereo receiver and used a splitter so I could use both my computer speakers and the stereo without disconnecting any cables. First make sure your 3.5 jack looks like the one in the link with three contacts and two insulators (the black plastic piece).
http://www.cablestogo.com/product.asp?cat_id=2009&sku=40421#
If you see only one insulator and two contacts it is mono and the second channel will be shorted out.
I would recommend using the Front Line Out which is a pre amp output into your auxiliary input on your home amplifier. If you use the headphone jack you may have clipping of the signal causing distortion.
Use the cable similar to the one in the link below or you can purchase one at Lowes or Target.
http://www.cablestogo.com/product.asp?cat_id=2009&sku=40427#
Plug the splitter male jack into the into the computer Front Line Out and the computer speakers into one female jack.
Second connect an 3.5mm to RCA stereo patch cord to the other female jack of the splitter. If you have a 3.5mm to RCA mono purchase one similar to the link below.

Can 2.1 pc speakers work thru headphone jacks?

No it's not possible to have a sound. Because the HDMI and the Headphone (3.5mm jack) are on two different technologies.

The monitor does not have a way to convert the sound from HDMI to Headphone.

There could be a converter that might convert the sound signal from HDMI to headphone (but I'm not sure).

PLANTRONICS Headphone won't work with IP 501 sip, polycome phone

Dont plugged into the headset jack. Like Nortel, connect headset line with phone base unit in receiver jack and plugged your phone receiver wire into headset or plantronic base unit. This will work. I am sorry, my english is not too good but hope you understand it now. But the pully is not working properly with IP501..I mean it is not good to pickup IP501 receiver and put it back right place.

No sound output from rear speaker jack

Plugging headphones into the computer will disable sound output from the sound card by design.
