I have a Midland 75-785 hand held, It was working fine then I went to use it and the squelch control is not working ( I get lots of static) radio still works. Sends and receives, but when I turn the squelch control it makes no differance.

  • Make sure you run the CB directly to the battery. What you are hearing is the alternator whining. Even then sometimes a low pass filter may be necessary. Make sure the chassis of your CB is grounded with a copper braid strap too.

  • Hope this helps.

How do you silence the squelch on the recieving radio on a midland lxt420?

Turn the squelch knob either clockwise or counterclockwise until the noise stops. Go no further than just where it stops. If that doesn't work there may be a defect. If there's no knob, look in program options for "squelch" and set it progressively higher until the noise quits, but just far enough that it quits.

Constant static midland walkie talkie

Doesn't it have a squelch adjustment?(it allows you to adjust sensitivity of the "gate" on the receiver).Turn the knob counter-clockwise until it just goes quiet. The receiver will be silent until a transmission is detected.

I have a midland 75-822 micro mobile-portable cb in my van. a lot of static and i was wondering how to correct it. thank you kindly.

your problem has many fixes depending on how you use your radio, but first think of were you are transmitting from a van or car is literally a big metal box so the squelch minimum will increase a bit if your antenna is inside the van. but if you use/get the UHF-DC adapter for this radio it will alow you to mount a exturnal antenna on the outside of the van, the other possibility is a bad placement of the antenna try changing its location. however if the noise increases as you excelarate then you might need a in line DC Noise Filter.

Can't break squelch ? Have Uniden Bearcat hand held scanning radi

Look at the squelch knob. If it is turned fully counterclockwise, it is in "Auto". Turn the knob clockwise to enter the manual mode and adjust the range untill static is heard. Reverse direction until the static is no longer heard.

How do I deactivate the RX feature on this radio? Too much static.

What you want to do is tighten up the squelch adjustment and that should reduce the white noise you are hearing. also keep them away from any computers, the square waves generated by them will open up your squelch annoyingly as well.
