How long is the track you are trying to master i believe it has to be over 30 seconds if your just sampling 8 or so seconds it wont work i know on some models its over a minute to be able to master mix a track.

thanks,

Nate

Why dont i have an internal recording device?

you have an internal recording device. It consists of a built-in webcam and microphone. to make a recording, use the cyberlink webcam program that's pre-installed on your laptop. you'll find it listed somewhere in the start / all programs list in windows 7. also, for sound recording only, the windows 7 audio recorder is located under start / all programs / accessories / sound recorder. select it and click the red record button. also, windows 7 has a feature or program called problem steps recorder. it records activity on your screen including mouse movement. i don't know if it records sound. to access it type psr in the search window and select psr in the search results, then click on start record.

Hi i have connected the Samson G-track with my macbook. also i using Nicecast & Traktor for radio broadcasting. when i talk from Samson G Track my voice comes only from left speaker. I try the...

This is because the G Track's Mic signal is on the Left channel and the Instrument signal is on the Right channel. You are making a stereo recording when you should be making 2 mono recordings. Does Nicecast have an option to set the track to mono Left channel? Traktor should, but I haven't used it so I can't tell you where the option is. There's probably a Track Input drop-down or something like that.

I am using Adobe audition 1.5 for recording my songs.. now.. i am facing big problem while using that software.. there is multitrack option available in that software. we have put karaoke track in one...

Welcome to FixYa!

I assume that you know your way around adobe audition 1.5 because I'm currently using adobe audition 3 on windows 7. The menus are different, but I'm going to give a few points that might help.

Windows Sound/Volume:
Make sure that the sound card you are using is selected, specially if you are using an additional external USB sound card (which is much better). Disable other sound cards, if any.

Adobe Audition:
One of the pull down menus located on the upper part, it has an option that says "Device Properties" or anything like that. This is where you set the input signal will be coming from and likewise the output signal.

The input signal should be the input of the sound card you selected in windows. Same goes for the output signal.

On multi-track view, check the track to be recorded. Make sure that the input is from the input of the sound card and not from anything else. The button for the setting is somewhere near the Solo/Mute/Record buttons.

If this will be set correctly, you will be able to play the song on the 1st track and record ONLY your voice on the 2nd track.

Keep me posted.

Thanks for using FixYa.

Samson G-Track mic does not work with garageband effects

Look man just use the input as a way for your pre-amp's to plug in.... you don't want any of those built in guitar effects anyways... You just need a good multi pedal.. There are many good recording Pre-amps out there that work great and are fully adjustable for easy recording.. You can do what you want but, I think you will like the sound of pre-amp effects pedals in your computer set up....

Thats just a tip

I finished one our ago my first recording i don't understand how to do to for pre mastering, because i want to do ace and evry time i read track too short, set out point... ?? give me how to do.a

Congratulations on your first recording! Mastering and pre-mastering is covered in much more detail in the manual (page 59 in the original 2488 manual) but I'll provide a brief explanation here for you.

First you need to enter pre-mastering mode. Do this by navigating through the menus to the 'audio CD' menu and then choose 'pre-master'. You'll see the word 'Mastering' appear in the LCD screen to indicate you are in mastering mode.

Basically you need to then set the 'out point'. The 'in point' is always 00:00:00.00. So just play your recorded song to the end (or where you want the master to end) and press 'shift' and 'set out' to set the out point there. A master has to be at least 4 seconds long which is whay you are getting that error message.

Next press record and play and the master will be recorded on two internal stereo mastering tracks (left and right). Master recording will automatically stop at the 'out point'. You can redo the master, undo a master, or copy the master tracks to any other two available tracks to preserve a copy and then go ahead and record another master. All effects, mixer settings, and fader movements are recorded as part of your master.

Best of luck.

Hope this helps.

Altering an mp3 track

hi,

If you simply want to overlap the voice, you can do that by recording using any free softwares available on internet (just google free recording softwares)
you can try, cooledit as well, one track will contain your file with play mode, one track with record mode (for your voice)
then start recording, it will play the song simultaneously with recording your voice.
After then, you have to save the mixdown.

other long way is, you have to get KARAOKE for that song (karaoke means, no vocals only music track) then you'll get the recorded song in good quality.

Hope this helps.

Thanks.

Electronic drum kit, with USB out, problem

Sounds to me like you have the midi tracks outputting to the microsoft midi mapper or wavetable synth, which is built into the sound chip in your pc, and that this is conflicting with the mobilepre sound card - midi is just data, no audio, needs to drive some kind of synth. what you want to do is disable your internal sound card thru device manager, then just use the m-audio mobile pre as the input/output sound card in ASIO mode - you'll need to monitor via the headphone jack on the mobile pre or plug speakers into the line outs on the interface.

Then do tutorial 8 (in help files) on using soft synths - INSERT>SOFTSYNTHs creates a midi track and an audio track in a track folder.

Good luck.

The dude.

Can I transfer to my computer?

This IC Recorder doesn't feature the USB port. However, you can transfer the files by connecting the Headphone OUT of the IC Recorder to the LINE IN of the Computer. Then, use any Sound Recording Software. You can also use the Sound Recorder Software that is pre installed in the Windows Operating System.

M-Audio Pre USB

I guess your output is leaking and you are recording it again to the track.
Try recording with lower output volume. :)

Don't know how to Pre-Master or Burn to CD, please help me!

Don Q -

This answer assumes you have the 2488 mkI and not the newer mkII because the process may differ slightly on the mkII.

To premaster you first have to set an out point for the end of your pre-master (the start point is always zero). Go to the 'Audio CD' menu item and choose 'pre-master' under that. You'll see the word 'mastering' appear in the top left of the screen to let you know you've entered mastering mode. Make sure you have the tracks unmuted that you want to mix into the pre-master and have all of your eq, panning, etc set the way you want. Then hit record and play. The pre-master records to a stereo pair of dedicated internal tracks. You can redo the premaster as many times as you like which will overwrite those internal premaster tracks. You can clone the premastered tracks to a stereo pair of tracks, export them as waves or burn them to a CDR.

fnawesomewes - You have to press record and play to record your premaster.
