Hanif, buy a new one because it will be difficult to find replacement and may even be costly. Kettles are cheap.

Opened the bottom of the kettle, not the charging base, using the three odd screws.

Found the white trip switch, which was a white line in the socket which connects the kettle to the charging base. Pressed it with a screwdriver and it came out more. Tested the kettle, works!

The instructions say make sure kettle motor is plugged in. Turn unit ON with switch on crown of machine. Allow unit to run for 3-5 minutes to heat up kettle. Turn unit off. Add 2 teaspoons of your favorite popcorn cooking oil to the kettle. Then add 1/4 cup of popcorn kernels to the kettle. Turn the unit on and close the door. Your electric kettle in drawing more current than your wall outlet's are made for. Not being able to read your current draw on your GE kettle I would guess you have a bad GE kettle and it needs to be returned to where you bought it.

this is more likley to be the switch its just a bimetallic type,when it gets hot steem on it it flicks the switch to turn the kettle off try giving it a realy good clean up inside around the switch it may just be lime scale blocking the vent hole
however normaly when the switch playes up its a new kettle

To state the obvious, the steam sensor has failed. Unless you are quite adventurous, and confident dealing with electrics, there's nothing for it but to get a new kettle (unless the kettle is still within warranty, in which case you should be entitled to a replacement of course).
