Hi factoryappli..

Here are a few things to check:
ALWAYS UNPLUG YOUR DRYER BEFORE ATTEMPTING TO DO ANY WORK ON IT.
Check to make sure you are getting full 220 Volt power to the dryer, if you are then:
Check your Wiring
Often the main wiring connection from the house, at the dryer, burns and the connection breaks. If this has happened to your dryer, you need to replace the power cord and the terminal block inside the dryer to which the wire is attached.
Check the Door Switch
If the door switch or the door-switch actuator is defective, the dryer won't work and you need to replace the failed component. The switch is inside the dryer main housing near the door frame. Sometimes you need to raise or open the top or front of the dryer to reach the switch. Check for continuity you should have none with door open, and should have a reading when closed. If not replace the door switch.
Check to make sure you heating problem is not a lint build up in the discharge hose or the dryer,as this condition can cause heater/thermistor problems such as overheating of the heating coil leading to failure of the coil and burnout of the thermostat/thermistor due to overheat.
Remove the back/or front just under the door of the machine and try to locate the air duct going from the blower to the drum. Normally inside/outside the air duct you will find the heating coil and the thermostats/thermistors. Once you have located the heating coil, remove the two wires from it and check the coil with an ohm meter across the two terminals of the coil.
You should read continuity across the terminals, if not you will need to replace the coil as it is faulty.
If the heating coil is ok, then:
You can check the thermostat/thermistor one at a time by removing the two wires and taping them together with electrical tape.
If the coil heats up then replace the thermostat/thermistor/thermal fuse as it is faulty.
If you have an ohm meter then you can test the thermostat/thermistor/thermal fuse,
then you do not have to tape the wires together as described above.
To test your thermostat/thermistor/thermal fuseremove the wires from the thermostat/thermistor/thermal fuse and check for continuity, if you DO NOT have continuity then replace the thermostat/thermistor/thermal fuse.
DO NOT LEAVE THE WIRES TAPED TOGETHER AFTER THE TEST AS THIS COULD CAUSE A FIRE BECAUSE YOU HAVE REMOVED THE SAFETY.

If the thermal fuse overheats the dryer will not operate. It's located on the blower housing. It cannot be reset. A vent clogged with lint can cause it to overheat. You can test it with an Ohm meter or continuity checker, if no continuity, replace it.
Right after replacing a dryer element, always run the dryer on 'air fluff' / 'no heat', and go outside to verify there's plenty of air coming out your vent system.
If the vent's clogged, that new element can burn out very quickly.

Why is My heating pad flashing F it's not that old. I've tried in many outlet, but still does it

Hello, Pat -

You have not stated the manufacturer name of your heating pad. Knowing that will help in providing you the right information.

I have found complaints about a Sunbeam King Size XpressHeat heating pad, with statements from the owners about an F appearing on the temperature display for the heating pad and the pad no longer heating.

In case yours is a Sunbeam King Size XpressHeat heating pad, see the complaints here:
https://www.sunbeam.com/pain-relief/heating-pads/sunbeam-king-size-xpressheat-heating-pad/002013-511-MASTER.html
Scroll down the page to see the Reviews.

I hope you saved the instructions which came with your heating pad and the sales receipt. The pad may still be covered by the manufacturer's warranty. Most companies require a copy of the sales receipt when an owner needs warranty coverage.

You can add more information by choosing Comment and typing in details (maker and model number) for your heating pad.

Best wishes.

Home Electric Heat Heating and Electric

Electric heat can come in many different forms. Some of these methods are resistance heating, electric arc heating, induction heating, and dielectric heating. The most common of these is the resistance heating. With the resistance heating of electric baseboard heating, water heating and kitchen ranges, you don't have to worry about carbon monoxide or unvented gases. However, direct with electric is really not considered ecologically sound because most electricity uses fossil fuels. This is because about two-thirds of the energy of the fuel is lost within the power stations, and in transmission line losses.

Some of the most popular choices for electric heating systems are thermal storage systems, electric radiant heating, hydronic electric heating and even convective heating. You can also install an off-peak system that can save money and also give you the convenience of electric heat. An example of an off-peak electric heating system that is very common today is an electric plenum heater. Another newer form of heating is a convective electric heating system. Both use electric heaters to heat the air that is then circulated with blowers throughout your home.

Electric heating has several unique advantages. It can be precisely controlled to allow a uniformity of temperature within very narrow limits, it is cleaner than many other methods of heating. It does not involve any combustion and it is considered very safe because it is protected from overloading by automatic breakers. It is quick to use easy to adjust and it is relatively quiet. The main disadvantages of electric heating in industry are the higher cost of electrical energy compared to direct use of fuel, and the capital cost of both the electric heating unit itself and the electrical wiring required to deliver large quantities of electrical energy to the point of use.
Electric heat does have a place. One place where it does shine is in a seasonal cottage that will only be used a few times a year. It is very easy to shut down the heat and turn it back on when you get back there. There is also very little that can go wrong or go bad from the long periods of non-use. For this situation electric is a very good choice. This is really the only situation in which I recommend electric heating.

As you can easily see, electric heating has some advantages and some disadvantages. The cost of electricity has continued to rise and will be skyrocketing even higher in the future. Many states have or will be deregulated electric or are going to do so in the very near future. With the future uncertainty of the cost of electric and the great amount of waste in the transmission system of electric, many owners of electric heating systems are debating whether or not to convert to hydronic baseboard heating. With the super high efficiency of today's gas and oil boilers, they are quickly becoming much more attractive to many homeowners. Combining a high efficiency gas or oil boiler with hot water baseboard or radiant heating gives you great comfort and will give you low utility costs for many years to come.

Radiant Heating - Why do You Feel Warm? The Best Most Efficient Heating System

What makes you feel warm on a sunny day in the summer? Radiant heating or radiant energy is usually recognized as the oldest form of heating. It provides the best comfort and is the basis for all types of heating systems. Radiant heating is "radiant energy" being emitted from any heat source. Radiant heating is the effect you feel when you can feel the warmth of the sun or a hot stove top element from across the room.

Radiant heat is widely known as the most comfortable and efficient heating method you can find. Some of the advantages of radiant heating are: it is usually more efficient than baseboard heating and almost always more efficient than forced-air heating because no energy is lost through ducts and other transfers. This technology can be used for both heating indoor and outdoor areas. These heating systems work by supplying heat directly to the floor, to panels in the wall or to the ceiling of a house. Because the radiant heating will make you feel warmer when you are in a room, you can have the thermostat at a lower temperature and still feel warm.

The feeling of warmth is the absence of heat being pulled from your body. If the walls, floors, and ceilings around you are warm then they are not pulling heat from your body. Then you feel warm. Your body is not giving up heat to them.

Because of this radiant heating systems can provide massive energy savings of more than 10-30% in most residences, and sometimes up to 60% in shops, hangars and warehouses. Radiant heating provides even warmth with no cold spots within a room. That provides a comfortable environment that cannot be matched by any other type of heating system.

New radiant systems are currently designed to run cooler than they did in the past. The water supplied to the systems will generally range from 90 to 140 degrees. Remember radiant heat can travel in any direction and is unaffected by gravity. Radiant heating systems will allow you to be more comfortable at a lower thermostat setting. Radiant heat will warm the closest and coldest mass, which then radiate heat throughout the space evenly. Radiant heating will give you the most consistent room temperatures from floor to ceiling when you compare it to any other heating system.
