CD will not play. The CDs goes in and out fine and looks like it is playing according to the display. I can change songs, fast forward and reverse through the songs according to the display but nothing plays. The radio works fine and sounds great just no sound with the CD player. It worked fine when I removed it from my truck. It sat on the shelf for a year and now I installed it in my car and now the problem started.

Do you have the radio hooked up to an amplifier? If so, it sounds like you are using the blue wire (antenna remote turn on) instead of the blue/white wire (amplifier remote turn on) to turn the amp on. The antenna remote wire turns off when leaving tuner mode.

try buying optical clean for the cd play run it few time before you do any thing else, make sure you buy one that has media disc cleaning fluid. put few drop of liquid on each pad push play, fast forward, stop reverse forward, stop few times, let it run until it stops. you mite find it at walmart but you may have to go dvd or record store, radio shack may also have it

My dodge stratus radio cd will only play cd from the start you can not change songs . this happens to cd made on home computer.

Dodge CD player's aren't very compatible with burned CDs. A lot of times they don't recognize the dongs as being different tracks and have to be fast forwarded. Not much can be done about it. More likely to happen if you have the infinity sound system.

Rewind and fast forward

Put the cd in when it loads and display the disc time, you can then spin the round wheels forward or backwards to the place on the song that you're playing, this only work when the song is paused or stopped. If the disc is playing the wheels are only used to slow down or speed up the song.
