Spark plug

Well there is no cooling fan spark plug. You do have a temp sensor that tells the computer what the coolant temp is. And that could be the problem. But you should have a check engine light on if it is.
Your radiator fan motor could have failed, or the relay that powers it. Jumping the relay would tell you if the fan works.

2000 pontiac sunfire engine light on, fan not coming on, temp between 196-200 any ideas

I would check the computer for codes first. The cooling fan comes on at 220 degrees so if your gauge is right it should not need the fan yet.

Laptop getting unusually hot in operation

Re: "the FAN runs only when the booting is being done.but it stops as soon as the booting is completed".

That would be normal, as the variable speed fan comes on only when the computer is under load.

What is not normal is that the fan is not coming on when the computer overheats.Or that the fan is not cooling enough when computer is overheating.

Monitor computer temperature using a software, check if Fan is coming up when temperature gets critical.

If fan comes up but does not cool enough, then replace the fan, it is not efficient anymore because of a bad bearing or dust. ~Also ensure that fan is well mounted, if fan has poor contact with CPU surface , cooling will be poor.

If fan does not come up, and critical temp is not detected, then the sensor on motherboard is bad, this is very uncommon.

If fan does not come up and temp is critical, then fan is faulty, replace it.

There are also more than one fan on many laptops, check that one of the fans (CPU fan, video fan) is not completely ded, and therefore cause for the problem.

Here is the software to control your fan and temp state:

Download SpeedFan - Access temperature sensor in your computer

Download SpeedFan 4.38

Replaced lamp, now no fan & hot plistic smell, (of course)

This model monitors the fans, should one not work the set should not even turn the lamp on, leaving only the timer LED flashing. Recheck your work but you have had other problems to begin with. Be sure the covers are reinstalled properly. Are you getting a Temp LED that is lighting? If so then the Temp sensor needs to be replaced.

Burner lights, fan wont come on, fan runs on manual setting, has new fan switch set at 110

YOUR FAN ON SETTING IS THE SECOND SETTING ON THE SWITCH .THE LOWEST SETTING IS THE TEMP AT WHICH THE FAN CUTS OFF AT THE END OF A SUCCESSFUL HEAT CYCLE. THE THIRD SETTING IS THE TEMP AT WHICH THE FAN COMES ON MAYBE 140 ISH. THE THIRD SETTING IS THE TEMP AT WHICH THE BURNER IS SHUT DOWN IN AN OVER TEMP SITUATION SAY 200 . THEN CONSIDER THE FACT THE SETTINGS ON THE DIAL ARE VAGUE. ACTUAL TEMPS MAY BE 20 DEGREES DIFFERENT, AND PROPERLY SETTING IS USUALLLY DONE WITH AN ELECTRIC THERMOMETOR.

Cooling fan wont work

The water temp sensor is located near the thermostat housing. This sensor is what tells the ECM to turn the fan on/off. The water temp sending unit is located near the same area. You know you have the correct sensor is because the water temp sensor has a 2 prong plug. The water temp sending unit only has 1 prong.
