Looking to buy a USED Whirlpool ED25PQ for $300. It's 8 years old. Should I do it? The seller says it's in good condition. I have only seen pictures. Please give some good advice. Thanks.

I would get it. I like the fact that the control is old school $60 (none electronic). It has a old school defrost timer. Parts are reasonable timer $20 heater $30 terminator $20 bucks compressor $230 bucks. Looks like it uses R134A freon which is environmentally safe and available to anyone. Not bad at all compared to the crappy electronically controlled models of today. Today's electronically controlled ice boxs are subject to spike surge electrical storm damages etc. Even though this one could be hit by storms too, it is much less likely to happen and you don't have to be a rocket scientist to work on it. Looks like it might be a great investment.

What would the price range be for a used FS110? Am buying one through an estate sale.

Considering they run over 300 easy... your looking at 150 tops for a 5 year old machine in used condition.. If the unit is in excellent condition, I can see maybe a little higher but, I wouldn't pay more than 150 for it, that's a fair price. If you can get it cheaper, then you got a great deal

Where can I buy a USED telescope?

Once you get involved with the amateur Astronomy hobby, you will probably have more than ONE telescope. It's just like the fishing hobby where you eventually have SIX rods and SEVEN reels, along with three tackle boxes!

Here are a few places to look for good used telescopes.

AstroMart-
This is the TOP DOG of used telescopes and other astronomy equipment. www.astromart.com

Most astronomers take very good care of their equipment. The neat thing about this web site is that the buyers rate the sellers and the sellers rate the buyers. Their rating is visible right next to their name. In any case ask for pictures of the equipment if none are posted, and call the seller to verify before sending your money. PayPal is accepted by most sellers. It will cost you $12 to join and see the full ads on the site. You will save more than $12 when you buy something!

Used-Demo- Equipment at the large Dealers
Most of the larger internet dealers maintain a list of used or open box equipment. These usually carry the NEW equipment warranty, but ask before you buy. This is a higher cost solution but most dealers will accept a RETURN if the scope is not as advertised or dead on arrival.

I purchased my Meade LX90 used from a dealer in South Carolina. I called him and worked out a deal with a 90 day guarantee on a used LX90 he had taken on consignment. The scope has been trouble free for over 3 years now; and arrived in perfect condition.

http://www.agenaastro.com/Clearance-s/103.htm

http://www.astronomy-mall.com/ several used sellers on this web site.

http://www.khanscope.com/ see the used link at the top of the page and-or call them

http://astronomy-mall.com/astro.parts.outlet/ this guy has dozens of used scopes along with thousands of "parts".

Call around to the larger internet retailers and see what they have used in stock that might be of interest to you.

Your local Astronomy Club-
Another good place to find used equipment is your local Astronomy club. The members are always looking to upgrade and to help fund the upgrade by selling their usually GREAT scope equipment.

This web site lists Astronomy Clubs by State:
http://www.astroleague.org/societies/list

Contact the President of your local club and tell him what you are looking to buy. Most club's have a private member's only internet forum where equipment is listed for sale.

Craigslist.com-

Yes, from time to time a nice telescope will show up on this web site! BUT! you must know what you are buying. Most of the scopes on Craigslist.com are junk telescopes that you do not want to own. You must be careful with your purchase as "scams" are known to exist on this web site. Buyer BEWARE!

I bought a very nice Celestron C6-SGT scope and mount on craigslist.com, but I called the owner and checked out the scope before handing over my money.

Hope this helps you find that FIRST or SECOND telescope at the lowest price possible.

I don't know how to use my whirlpool front loader I purchased second hand today. It is only 2 years old and in lovely condition but I've never used a front loader before. It did not come with an...

When you buy a second hand washer it is important to ask for a demo or a free trial . If this is not done a second hand is always a second owner though it looks new which can be done with some cosmetics.
Check the power, check the display, check the inlet supply, check the door to close and click . When the start is initiated if the water does not flow or activate you will need to check with your seller . take opinion before you go further.

I just bought a ps1 off ebay, said working condition, and when i try to play a game, the screen says "insert disk" when theres on in there, ive tried the only 3 games i can find for a ps1, all a bit...

Try to send it back to the seller. The original Playstation (or PS1) is pretty old - like over 10 years old. That's a long time for a video game console to last; especially it it ever got used alot. I hope that you did not pay much for it. I personally wouldn't buy anything that old unless I had alot of PS1 games laying around that I loved to play. If you can't return your PS1 for a refund, then I would suggest buying a PS2; if you're not in the market for a PS3. There are tons of games out for the PS2 and they still occasionally make new games for the PS2. You can find new or used PS2 consoles at Game Stop, Walmart, Meijer, eBay, & etc.

My ice and water taste funny in my Whirlpool ED25PQ. How can I soleve this issue

You can install a filter in the incoming 1/4" line leading from the wall to the refrigerator. These can be purchased from Lowe's or Home Depot and come with installation instructions. Be sure to buy the whole new filter system not just a replacement cartridge.

If you have copper water line you will need a tubing cutter to cut the supply line for filter installation. If the line is plastic a sharp blade will do.

Good Luck
