Hi,
You must have these first.
1. Aerial antenna - buy this at your local home depot. Any aerial antenna available will be fine. Please see the sample picture.

2. Antenna wire (RG-6 cable wire) - connect one end of this wire to your aerial antenna and then the other end to your tv.

3. RG-6 connector - other end of the cable wire must have a this conWE DISCONNECT OUR SATELITE hOW DO WE GET REGULAR - jdvillanueva_63.jpgit securely to your TV.

Some Aerial antenna has a cable wire packaged, this is much better than to assemble #2 and #3.
After the connection had been done, go to the menu on the tv, scroll down to antenna connection and then press auto tunning to saved all the viewable channel in your area.
Let me know if you need further assistance.
Hope I helped you.
Have a nice day!
Thanks for using Fixya.

Troubleshoot plasma tv problem This morning the tv

The image processor, more precisely its buffer memory, has died. You must replace the entire mainboard.
tip

Direct TV states "Not available" on screen.

When your Direct TV based units say that a channel is "not available" when you know that you had been receiving them on a regular basis you probably have a problem with the activation card. Sometimes the unit will lose it's communication with the satelite and it will not restore it when the signal reappears. This is probably a software issue but happens so rarely no one wants to fix it.

If all the other menus and parameters of the system appear to be working the problem probably lies with the activation card. For many reasons the card can become unusable and cause the system to not work. Generally though it is caused by a glitch in the software. As the unit continually reacquires the satelite or satelites, it must execute instructions just like your computer. We all know that computers are prone to failure so why not satelite dish receivers.

The solution involves removing the card then reinserting it and hitting the reset button near the card slot. This will cause the unit to reboot and re-acquire the satellite and all the programming. By forcing the unit to reboot it must read the information from the card and reload the software. Once reloaded the software will no longer have any glitches in it and should work as it is supposed to.

This should solve your problem. If it does not you may need to call your satelite provider.

Thanks for using FixYa and for the great rating. Please consider a testimonial. Thank You.

No solution found on your site. My 62" Toshiba DLP makes an extremely loud chopping noise when on HD channels using a satelite service. (Happened on Dish and Suddenlink) No sound except for the chopping....

Have you contacted your satelite provider? Have you any other HD sources to try, A Playstation 3, a blue-ray disc player or even using the TV's terrestrial HD tuning system can tell you if its the TV or the Satelite.

New Sharp Aquos LCD 46 TV

If you hooked up the satelite box to your tv Automaticly the Satelite box is the one who pick up the channels (from the satelite)
In this case your tv is acting as a monitor only. Try to connect your tv with HDMI cable or COMPONENT cable for best picture. Don't use RF antenna input to hook up your Satelite Box. Hope this Helps

Can i hook up to my satelite dish direct or do i have to go thru my receiver first. Thanks; Delmar [email protected]

The satelite dish will not pass-through the video/audio from your DVD player. You will need to find an open area (preferably DVD selector) on your receiver to input the DVD video/audio. Most satelite boxes are one way devices.

Satelite box --> Receiver (satelite input)--> TV
DVD Player --> Receiver (DVD Player input) --> TV

or

Satelite box --> TV
DVD Player --> TV

I have an LG 42" 42PX4DV Plasma, keeps resetting itself.

Do you use a regular antenna, or cable/satelits tuner?

I use only satelite tuner, and had the same problem on a differnt TV. I solved it by connecting a regular antenna (actually just a piece of cable) and go through the search and store routine once. Then the TV remembered that it was configured. Before that it thought it was "fresh out of the box" every time.
