No video but sound ok

A 24 inch set may not be economical to fix for this issue---most LCD sets use some type of back lights---take a close look to see if anything is on the screen even if very faint.

Problem could be power supply related or main board related (it processes all signal and controls the screen).

If as indicated it is a multi-system set parts may be hard to find.

Weigh the cost of the unit versus repairing or buying a new one.

I have an HTC 8925 and when I turn it on, it turns on but it doesn't fully load. The only thing it shows is the ATandT logo on a white background. It does not make any sound or beep or anything in that...

Thanks for visiting FixYa!

From your explanation, it sounds like you've downloaded an app or program that has a driver conflict with the phone's operating system. You may need to flash your phone's ROM (operating system) with a new updated version to get it to work properly again. Since you didn't include who your cellular carrier is, I'm going to assume that it is AT&T. If the phone is not an AT&T Branded phone, disregard these instructions.

This phone is also called the HTC Tilt 2 (AT&T) and there is a new ROM download for the phone which should solve your problem. You'll need to follow the directions EXACTLY to flash your phone's ROM - and I do mean exactly!

This software update is intended for the HTC Tilt 2 for AT&T only and users should not load or attempt to load this version on any other device as it may cause serious issues/damage.

Please note that during the update process, the device will be Hard Reset and anything that is NOT part of the Operating System (contacts, calendar, music, etc) will be permanently deleted; always make a point of backing up your device's data on a regular basis!

Before you proceed, please confirm that this software upgrade is a newer version than what is currently loaded on your device. If it is the same version and your device is operating normally, there is no need to reload the software.

To determine the software version running on your device, go to Start > Settings > System Folder > Device Information > Software Information.

Validate that the ROM version is 2.10.502.4 if it is not, you will need to update the software on you device.

Before you run the ROM Upgrade Utility (RUU), make sure you check and do the following first:

  • USB sync cable is connected to your device and PC to establish a connection with Activesync/Windows Mobile Device Center. If you don't have ActiveSync installed on your PC already, the CD found inside your handset box can be used to install the application. If you lost the disk, please go to www.microsoft.com >Downloads & Trials> Windows Mobile Downloads and download the appropriate application (ActiveSync or Windows Mobile Device Center) depending on your PC's OS. You will also need Outlook or Outlook express installed in order to backup your contacts, calendars, e-mail, tasks etc.
  • Remove your storage card prior to running the upgrade. Do not put it back into your phone until after the upgrade process is complete.
  • The standby and hibernation modes are disabled on the computer.
  • All running applications on the computer have been closed.
  • Ensure that you device has a battery level of at least 50% (Start > Settings > System Folder > Power > Battery) If the battery "dies" during the upgrade process, there is a chance that the device will not recover and will need to be sent to HTC for repair.
  • The update can take several minutes so set aside time when you will not be interrupted.
  • Do Not interrupt the upgrade process or press any buttons on the device until the process has been completed (the device will reset itself when the update is done).
  • Warning: Installing this update will erase all data stored on the device, restoring your device to the factory default settings. Please be sure to back up any important files to preserve your data.

General Procedure on Installing the ROM Update

  1. Back up your personal data from the Mobile Device to your computer using ActiveSync (Windows XP or sooner)/Windows Mobile Device Center (Windows Vista and Windows 7) or a 3rd party backup utility if you want to ensure you don't lose any of your data.
    • If using a 3rd party backup utility, be sure that you are not backing up the Registry as this will cause issues once restored to the device after the update.
    • You will need to reload any 3rd party applications manually. Once you have created your backup file, be sure to copy the backup file to a storage card (ensure that Storage Card Encryption has been disabled on the device if you have enabled it) or to your PC before proceeding with the ROM update.
  2. On your computer, click on the Download link (below) and save the file to your desktop.
  3. Establish a connection between ActiveSync/Windows Mobile Device Center and your device using the provided USB Data cable.
  4. Locate the ROM file (the one you saved in step 2 above) on your PC and double-click on the file to run the ROM Update Utility (RUU) to install the ROM update to your Mobile Device.
  5. Follow the RUU Wizard prompts. When presented with the readme screen, please read the Readme since it provides a lot of valuable information on the upgrade process and what you can expect during the upgrade process. Check the box beside the "I understand the caution indicated above and has reviewed the Readme" and then press Next to continue. The remaining steps will typically involve checking the check box and pressing the Next or Upgrade button until the upgrade is completed.
  6. Restore your personal data back to your Mobile Device using ActiveSync/Windows Mobile Device Center or the 3rd party backup utility you selected.
HTC Tilt 2 (AT&T) ROM Update 2.10.502.4 ' 08.30.2010 then click on: Download when you get to the HTC Downloads page to download the ROM to your PC. Then begin the install.

I have an i900 Omina 8gb touch phone and i have trouble when i touch and want to anything, sometimes i have to tap afew times before it responds,do i need a software upgrade? thanks Andrew

Hello there...

[First]
You could try a Hard Reset.

- Hard Reset: Power cycle your handset while also erase all data, rollback your device to default state (when you got it first time from the store/factory).

How To:
- Hard Reset:
1) Go to Start Menu >> Settings >> System >> Hard Reset >> Clear Memory >> and follow instruction.
2) or other way is: handset in power off state, push small Reset button near the power button while also pressing End & Call button simultaneously and then follow instruction appears on the screen.

[Second]
If that doesn't help try firmware upgrade to latest version.
Latest version for Asia version is DXIA5.

Or check your region latest ROM here:
http://www.samsungmobile.com/support/omnia/index.jsp

[Third]
If that still not helping and you have a spare cash, I think you should consider replacing your Omnia's Touch Panel ^^

Hope that helps....:D

Getting a red, green, and blue screen when trying to hard reset

your going to have to download a recovery.img of the stock rc29 system and boot that up from that screen. This will hard reset the phone and then from there you can upgrade back to your desired rom.

My htc phone got stuck on WINDOWS MOBILE screen. it wont do anything, not even turn off. ive taken out the battery and turn back on, still same thing. what can i do?

Hello, These methods have been confirmed on my phone with both T-Mobile's ROM and Excalibur (S620 original ROM)

Turn the hand-held off, hold the two soft keys (the dashes to the left and right of the phone buttons) hold the power button for 1-2 seconds and then release the soft keys. It should prompt you to clear storage. The “send” button is considered as the green phone button.

Let us know if you have any other questions. If this information was helpful, please take a moment to rate the solution. Thank you.

Htc 6800 has to be soft rebooted after screen goes dark

Take the phone back and get another one. This is a store queen. Bad manufacture maybe. You should be able to keep the phone on long enough to upgrade system. Also, the numerous reboots might be from a short in the on/off switch. Either way I would get it replaced.

O2 xda exec

This is the suggestion they provide on O2 website for such problems:
  • Perform a soft reset (PDA phone) or re-boot the device (Smartphone) and test again.
  • Perform a hard reset (PDA phone) or return to default settings (Smartphone) and test again. (read below before dong this)
  • Check that the application still fails to execute after you upgraded the ROM (OS) to the latest revision. If you haven't upgraded your ROM (OS) do so now and check again.
But before doing the hard reset, I suggest you try installing other camera software for windows mobile 5 and check if the camera still working (not a hardware problem). If its still fail, try the hard reset after backing up all you data.

Unsucessful Rom Upgradation Error

OK your phone is most probable stuck in bootloader mode and needs to accept a USB connection with the correct ROM image to be reprogrammed. You will see on the screen that there stands Bootloader/Serial if you look carefully. Check if you can see this text. Try a master reset on the phone as per rom installation instruction. (Top mennu buttons and reset simultaniously). Let me know there are more ways to solve the problem.
