Ifthe laptop battery is more than 3 - 4 years old then the battery could be wornout. Rechargeable batteries have a finite number of charge and discharge cyclesand will lose their charge capacity over time, i.e. won't charge to 100% andgradually the charge reduces until the battery won't charge up atall. ORThe battery shows a 100% charge but when the adapter is disconnected thebattery drops off to zero capacity in a very short time. Ifthe battery drops to an unacceptable charge level then the battery needs to bereplaced.

Suddenly won't turn on no charge light indicator

Whenyou connect the power adapter into the laptop, does the power LED lightup? If not then -The battery adapter or the adapter's power lead or the laptop's powersocket could be faulty.Check power adapter's DCplug that connects into the laptop power socket with a multi-meter, the voltageshould be slightly higher than the voltage that is printed on the label on thebottom of the adapter. If the voltage is zero or way below the voltage that isprinted on the label then the power adapter is faulty and needs to be replaced. If the adapter is OK thenconnect it to the laptop and power it up, then look at the power/batterycharging LED light and wriggle the power plug in the laptop's power socket. If the power/battery LED light flashes and in a certain position this LED lightstays firm, then the power socket is either faulty or it has a dry solder jointwhere it is connected to the motherboard. This can be repaired but itrequires the laptop to be completely dismantled to get at this power socket andrepair. If you cannot DIY then I suggest you get a quote first.

Battery power indicator light has suddenly stopped coming on. Can I still use my laptop?

If it works, yes you can. It maybe that the battery went dead.

Try removing the battery for 10 minutes and put it back and see if the laptop powers on. If it doesn't, connect the power cord and see if it is charging. If not, then most likely battery is dead.

You can buy batteries from stores like ebay.

Medion akoya e1210 notebook. failure to boot pxe

Failure to boot PXE 061 is a BIOS message that indicates 2 things:
  1. System failed to boot to the hard drive
  2. System failed to boot to a network connection
The apparent problem is failure to boot to the hard disk. If the system was running yesterday and there have been no hardware changes to the system, then most likely failures are:
  1. HDD failure (Replace the HDD, reinstall OS and applications) I hope you have information backed up.
  2. HDD not being detected by the motherboard due to connection issue (Remove HDD and reseat it, then see if seen in BIOS) If no change replace hard drive, if new drive not seen, replace motherboard

Fitted new power socket to laptop but still now power?

Check you adapter for voltage at the connector you insert into the laptop. Just because you see a lit LED on the adapter, doesn'tmean you have output at the connecter, there could be a break in the wire, typically at the strain relief molded area at the connector.

Wont recognise battery

Those may have 1 or 2 different problems. Cold Solder joint on Mobo. Bad DC Power Jack. 1: if it is the Cold Solder, you can reflow the solder and be done with it. 2: if it is the DC power jack, It should be replaced. For simplicity lets call them DC(A) and DC(B) There are 3 connections to it. Gnd, DC (A), and DC (B). When the powersupply is plugged in, contacts (A) touch to send +DC to the laptop. (B) is open. When the laptop is using battery power, contacts (B) touch to send power from the battery through the system. Over a period of time (inserting and removing the DC Power Cord), the contacts become fatigued, or oxidized and the DC(B) never closes - so it won't work from DC Battery. RATE ME - if it helps
