AC adapter/charger is attached, but the battery will not charge. it doesnt even show that the battery is there

Go to Battery options on your Device settings.

Check the Battery charging mode. The device can only charge through the power adapter and may have shifted into the USB charging. If it shows USB charging, do the following.

Remove the USB connector from the Tab device and AC adapter from wall power outlet (Must need to remove both the ends).

Reconnect the USB cable and AC adapter to wall unit. Now check the charging mode, it shows charging with AC. Now the device can charge as normal condition.

If however it shows USB charging, do this step again by disconnecting the ports and reconnecting until you see the AC charging mode for Battery.

If the mode was correct, I'd test the charger unit for 5+ volts. It's possible it died.

Juello. Did some research on your tablet at Amazon, (http://amzn.to/1xWx6S5) and see that they also have an AC charger (AC charger adapter with a 3.5mm power jack and delivering 5VDC 2A). I would guess the connector snapped off inside the tablet, so you will have to remove it with some tweezers. If the pin for the AC adapter broke off inside the tablet, that's a problem, but most everything can be charged from the USB port too see this website:

Does it use an AC adapter or a USB cable to charge? The AC adapter or the USB cable could be bad. Try another cable/adapter. Does the tablet show a lightning bolt on the battery icon when you connect the charger or nothing at all? Does the tablet power up when you are connected to a power source? If the answer to both of these questions is yes, then it is probably a bad battery or charging jack. If the tablet is under warranty, contact the store where you bought it or the manufacturer. If it is not under warranty, try an independent cell phone store that might be able to open it for you and see what type of battery you need to replace it. Get the battery pack model number, size, voltage and maH rating and search for a similar battery on Ebay.

Not sure of the model number of your polaroid tablet you have. Generally the adapter should be an AC adapter for 220V or 110V depending on country. It is unlikely you will have to select 6v or 12v. If you are unsure charge the tablet through the USB cable connected to a computer. It might take a bit longer to charge and make sure the computer is connected to mains charger to avoid drain on computer (laptop, etc) battery.

If you have a 7" tablet then I am assuming it is a PMID705. See manual on this link.

The manual says it is a 5v DC output connector for the adapter. Not sure why you are asking the question. If in doubt send email to polaroid support on the address at end of the attached manual.

The nice thing is, that the Kindle/Amazon charger (Ac adapter) is clearly marked as being an Amazon/Kindle charger.

So, here's what you do, perform the hard reset of the Kindle (slide and hold the power switch over to 20+seconds; count slowly; release, then connect to your Amazon/Kindle AC adapter. Then leave it connected for 30+minutes; and should the battery charge, the Kindle screen will return to normal.

Alternate step to try is; if you don't have the actual Kindle AC adapter, you will need to try to charge via the USB port from your computer.

The trick here is, that the Kindle takes longer to charge direct from a computer USB port, and the computer has to be left on the whole time and CANNOT go to sleep, as the power to the USB ports might be turned off.
Also, it's best if you connect to a "powered" USB hub, or the USB ports found at the back of a computer tower (not the front USB ports as most of the time, the front ports do not supply enough power for Kindle charging).

My tablet won't charge via the ac adapter. I have left it plugged in for over a day and it still says its dead. The only way I can successfully charge it is via the usb cord with my laptop.

The power Cell (Battery) no longer accepts a charge. The exception is if the AC/DC charging adapter has failed. See if you have a similar power charger around the house. Look for the same type of male pin and proper DC or AC Voltage plus Amps as listed on the current Tablet Charger. Never leave chargers in the electrical outlet alone as they can be damaged by surge power. Try another charger and if that fails also, the power cell in the tablet needs replacing.

try buying new tablet or charger as back up but also sometimes if my tablet will not charge like urs i just re plug it in . but before back ups try new ac adapter thingy
