Switch the printer ON again and repeat the Hard Disk Drive Test. All HP MFP's have an internal harddrive and will only function as printers if that drive fails. You need to replace the harddrive. It is mounted on the formatterwhich is accessed on the back. First remove the sliding panel and then open the metal door. These are right where the fax and data cables plug in. You can replace the drive with almost any 2.5" IDE harddrive that you can find. The standard model will be either a 20, 30 or 40 gig, I have installed up to 160 gig drives with no problem. Do not order a drive from HP as they will charge several hundred dollars for a drive you should be able to get at any computer shop for less than $75.00. Be cautious removing the drive from the plastic mounts as they are easy to break.
HP Laserjet 4345MFP Backlight on printer display does not light. Counts up the 256MB memory then HP logo (3 sizes) appears (just visible) The 3 lights keep cycling on the display. Thats it, does nothing else. It has been left overnight and continues to display the logo and cycling 3 lights. Rear DC Cont Fan is turning. No other fans or activity with machine. When ADF/scanner/mfp or hard disk are disconnected it does recognise this and throws an error and asks for reboot. I have tried cold reset, nvram init. and hard disk init. but no difference. Your thoughts?
When the memory counts up when turning mfp on, hold down the 6 button until all three lights on left of panel light up, then using the 3 button to scroll go to COLD RESET and touch 6 button to select. If that doesnt fix ya then you may need a hard disk drive
It sounds like a driver problem. Try replacing the driver for this printer on the printers folder, using the HP LaserJet Series II. With this driver, try again the PDF file and see if it prints correctly.
