Panasonic fax machine plays "not

It is probably the same problem I just had with mine through Comcast. All I was getting was a not answered message no matter what number I dialed. I had the telephone line running through a surge surpressor that had one line running in and then two lines running out. I had been hooking up my fax through one of the two out lines. When I switched it to the main line and not through the surge protector everything worked fine.

So if you have any splitters or surge surpressors on your line - switch to the main line and see if your problems does away like mine did.

This isnt a solution but merely an opinion; maybe its time to get a new fax machine?

You need to replace the backup battery located on the main printed circuit board. These are usually soldered onto the board but some have receptacles which make replacement easier.

Pretty simple....some people when thy set up a number with the phone company only want it to be accessible from a certain area...for instance a number ( 1-800 ) could be set up to only allow calls from within the USA and not allow calls from outside the USA.

Have you checked you Pulse/Tone dialing switch? Perhaps it is dialing in the incorrect mode, it should be set to Tone, please check.

press the MONITOR key then dial your number this will allow you to use your machine as a speaker phone to hear the dial process, it will be slower but will work.

error code 634 means that you have reached your limit of redials

error 634 is an indication that the line was either busy, or there was no answer on the receiving end.

you could try pressing the on hook dial button once you have a dial tone dial the fax number you are trying to reach and then you will be able to hear f there is a fax tone form the other machine or a error message from your operator. If there is a series of beeps with the document in the feeder press send.

The most common cause of not sending is ECM (Error Correction Mode) press menu and within TTI settings make sure this is turned off.
