I have had the game Silver Buckle Stables for PC for a while and it has quite a few scratches. It wont install on my windows 7 computer, it keeps saying that it cant find the cd in the computer. Do I need a new game? Or is there a way to make it work?

I, myself have had nothing but problems when I downloaded Internet Explorer 9! I got rid of it. The best way to get rid of IE 9 once you have downloaded it is to go to Windows Update, click " view update history", click "Installed Updates" and once they all appear, find Windows Internet Explorer 9 ( Under Microsoft Windows, which is below Microsoft Visual C & Microsoft Silver-light 1, among others ) and uninstall it! It is quite very simple and IS the only way to get back to IE 8 ( If that is what you had previously, otherwise it will default to IE 7. BTW, very easy to re-install IE 8! ). For some reason, once you start using Google Chrome browser, it is best to simply avoid Internet Explorer! I use Google Chrome & love it! I also use Mozilla Firefox! Sometimes we must use Windows IE since it is the browser which came with the computer. But I would avoid IE 9 and just not download it again once you are rid of it! No matter how much Windows/Microsoft tells you that you need to download it! Hope you have your computer running efficiently again! arjay8tch (Richard Holt)
hi Jaquelynrul,
Since this game was made a while back there may be some compatibility issues with it running on Windows 7.
To fix this right click on the icon that was made when you installed the game.
Click on Properties.
Click on Compatibility.
Check the box that says "Run this program in compatibility mode for:"
In the dropdown below, select Windows XP SP2.
Click apply.
Run the game.
Cheers,
Garbanian
i think the problem is with compatibility with your OS. first, u need to check that your windows 7 is installed with 32bits or 64bits system. second, check your game compatibility (is it compatible with 32bits, 64bits, or both. if your OS installed with 64bit then your game only compatible with 32bits so the game will not work, and the contrary.
my opinion (probably wrong): maybe your win 7 is installed with 64bits and your game only support 32bits system, so you need get another 'scratches' game that support 64bits. another solution (worst scenario), try to installing your win 7 with new win 7 with 32bits system.:)
Hey 1323164 you were right. I was having this same problem trying to run this game on Windows 10 but what ended up fixing it was opening up the folder on the disk, running the setup file in compatibility mode for Win XP (service pack 3), and running it in administrator mode. Then in the setup I ran custom install, and selected the Direct X install and selected "will not be available for program". Basically it would not be installed with the program. Then I pressed next and it installed and runs great! :D Thank you so much for that hint!
Ensure there are no marks or scratches on the disc. Even on a CD the track pitch is 600 per millimetre. DVD's are considerably more and Blueray are even more than DVD's. So the slightest mark or tiny scratch will cause 'skipping' and interrupt any installation.
OMG I have the same problem!! I have tried to do various things on custom but it will not work. They say though, for some people custom DOES work. U just got to select custom instead of Typical, then make sure that u do not install directX 9
I have this problem on many of my pc games, The main reason is SCRATCHS!!!! Even i leave them dics on my desk. If it is scratched go to a game shop and get it cleaned it isnt tht much.. Or if it isnt then check you are installing into the right place and the last one is the game data could be faulty.
Sorry i cant help more.
update quick time, Java, and if you have windows vista or windows 7 and the game is for windows xp then right click on the game (if you can't access the game then right click on a shortcut and click find target) and click compatibility mode windows xp, also see if your graphics card is compatible with the game.
