On the original SONY remote press display to remove that---if left on long enough it will actually burn that image into the screen--button on almost any Sony Tv remote will remove or clear it.
If you have no picture, no sound and the TV stays in standby it is not the remote sensor. That is the TV in protect mode (forced standby). The TV goes in forced standby when an internal problem is detected. Most Sony have buttons on the TV set. If problem is the IR sensor the TV Twill wake up if you press the channel buttons on the set. Try disconnecting power cord for ten minutes. If that does not work call the Sony support number listed in your user guide.
The Sony RM-YD002, RM-YD005 and RM-YD007 models are purported to work with all Bravia LCD TV sets. There are a number of these listed on eBay with prices starting at about US$10. If, as I surmise, you are located in the United Kingdom, you will also have to pay international shipping. This is still much better than the $80+ Sony probably asked for exact replacements (a search of their global web site for your model came up null).

Hi,the problem is from the fuse in the tv,it's blown and it's a means of in-built security against power fluctuations from damaging the unit,so the solution is to replace the fuse of the TV to restore your unit back to a normal working condition.
