Hello, usually a window AC will spit water if the unit is not tilted back or if the drain is backed up, if the unit is level try tilting it back it the window somewhat. Also, if the unit does have a drain make sure it is not blocked.

Plain and simple: most air conditioners (Haier) do not have drain plugs - if the A/C is spitting water, the back end is too high. Tilt the front (inside) higher than the back (outside) and this should alleviate the problem.

SOURCE: Dehum

Dehum is short for dehumidify. This setting is to remove the humidity from the air without doing any real airconditioning. Also, if the a/c is spitting water out the front, then the a/c is leaning forward too far. The a/c should be at least level or maybe leaning toward the outside a little bit to help facilitate drainage.

The problem you're experiencing is generally caused by the rear of the unit not being tilted down enough. 1/4" to 1/2" is the general rule. This allows collected water in the drip pan, to run to the rear of the unit, where the drain hole is located. It would also be prudent, to check the drain hole under the drip pan, to see if it's clogged. It can be cleared with a pipe cleaner.

Hope this helps you and thanks for choosing FixYa.

FAC105P1A spitting water

Easy fix. reposition the unit to where is tilts slightly downwards in the rear so that the water will flow out the back instead of inside. NEVER drill any holes in a window unit.

Haier 5500 window unit, spits water into the room sometimes. Also, water "sloshes" around inside the fan area & is quite noisy sometimes. ? Thankyou for your assistance...

You will need to reposition the unit to where it will be tilted downwards slightly outside.
The water will then flow out the back and not spit into the room.

Water in air conditioner

A lot of the newer window units design the outside fan to pickup the condensate water and sling it onto the coil. The evaporative effect makes the unit run more efficiently. They ususally don't spit, but if the unit is running well, otherwise, I would't worry about it.

Condensation buildup

Make sure the unit tilts towards the outside. If it's installed level or tilted toward front it will not drain properly.

My LG window air conditioner is spitting out water on the floor and I can't seem to find any hoses or water pan to clean it out

randobrad had it exactly for me, the port to the outside was cleared but the one from front to back was clogged. Once I found the small port (using a wire hanger) it was easy.

Sears Plasmaire spits water into room

It's probably just holding water somewhere and getting thrown out. I've seen people drill holes on the bottoms to drain water quicker.

Frigidaire window unit spits water into room

To be honest with you this is a good and a bad thing. The bad thing is that it is spitting water into the room. The good thing is that the unit is running Great. The amount of humidity it is removing. is greater and faster than it can run down and off the coil. See if there is any possible way to deflect the water. i would recommend trying to attach a piece of screen door material. It will likely keep the water from going through it.

Troubleshooting

first I would check your air conditioner to see if it is tilted backwards it should drain to the back (outside) . also check to see if the evaporator tray is clear of debris. if it is pluged up water may back up.. let me know and if this don't help we can go deeper..Thanks
