Thermostat is what I would suspect first.
The defrost timer is the next suspect : http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/part-number/Frigidaire-Parts/Freezer-Parts/297216600/0046/253/Model-LFFH2067DW7/1428/0142000?keySuffixId=NA&productTypeId=0142000&searchModelNumber=LFFH2067DW7&subCompDesc=System&brandDesc=FRIGIDAIRE&modelDesc=FREEZER&blt=11
I think the defrost heater is probably okay and it is just getting the wrong signals from the above components. But it is item 14 on this diagram: http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/part-model/Frigidaire-Parts/Freezer-Parts/Model-LFFH2067DW7/1428/0142000/R0805140/00003
Very correct, if drain gets blocked or frosted, then this types of problems can definitely occur.----- Thanks for the update.Helpmech.
Hello swanee3669 - Have you trying measuring the temperature inside the unit to confirmed that it matches the display? If so, I recommend contacting a professional to accurately diagnose the unit since it sounds like it could possibly have a bad sealed, thermostat or control board.

I discovered that the drain plug had frozen over ( because of a piece of paper that stopped the drain entrance) and that ice had built-up in the bottom return causing no air flow and temp rising.
I fixed the problem. Theromastat and timer are find.
