Question about Lexar Echo ZE 16GB USB Backup Drive Hard Drive

Open Question

Hello My boyfriend and I have recently received the Lexar Echo ZE 16gb. We intended to use this mainly for listening to music on it on our stereo JVC UX-G46. Unfortunately it does not seem to work, everytime we insert the flash drive into the stereo, we get an error, and our stereo just shuts down... Maybe the power of the flash drive is too high for our stereo (so more than 5V / 500 mA? Or what else could be the reason for this problem? Thanks, Nora

SOURCE: lexar flash drive

First, download and try to extract all the files from your drive with this tool:

http://www.lexar.com/drivers/files/ImageRescue_2.0-u(b16).zip

Second, at the moment that you are sure that you have all your files backed up, if windows recognizes the drive, try to right click on it and format

SOURCE: It seems that i can't put anything on my Echo ZE.

Hello,
b> b>I think it could be due to virus activity. Some virusmake the contents of the drive hidden, that's why user can't see the files and the space available for use is less than thecapacity and also can not open the drive. It issuggested that go to FOLDER OPTIONS - and select SHOW HIDDEN FILES. It may showthe hidden files. If can not show ,hidden file (tools >folder option>view> check on show hidden file>check off hide protected and checkoff hide extension) now can see all hidden file in c drive. If not think...... For ensure again run>type> msconfig > hit can not open ms config if virus effected run >type> regedit>hit>can not open registry if virus effected run >type >gpedit.msc>hit can not open group edit policy if virus effected Otherwise, ifyou don't have any vital data on the drive, just format it in another pc.Pleasenote, before insert the Pen drive .Go to run command from start menu OR Press Win key+R and type gpedit.msc and hit>Usser configuration >system>turn off auto play >enable>use down arrow key select all drive >apply >ok. Control panel>administrative tools > service>select any word in right side and presss for select Shell Hardware Detection> d -click >use down arrow key>disable >start. And now can insert pen drive and format. Hope this wouldfix the issue and . Youshould fully scan by f-secure bootable cd or any another antivirus bootable cd.Just insert the disk and restart. Follow bellow the download link. http://www.askvg.com/download-free-bootable-rescue-cds-from-kaspersky-bitdefender-avira-f-secure-and-others/ you wouldbe able to enjoy the full capacity of the disk. No sound out of the pioneer vsx-1121-k

Hello,
Try removing all the speaker and the HDMI connections; then use a headphone to listen to music from the tuner or a CD in stereo mode. Better in direct mode. If you hear your music correctly the receiver could be working correctly. If no music is heard, you may need to have it repaired professionally.
If you can hear music, connect the main FL & FR speakers and verify you can hear music that way, without the headphone connected.
If you can hear music that way, connect the center and rears. Try a mode that uses all channels to verify all sound channels are working.
Then, and only then start adding your HDMI connections.
Good luck

Is only playing mono when listening to music

It sounds like an error in the wiring of the speakers. Check that very closely.

Hello,
Do you have your speakers hooked up? If you are listening to the radio do you have an antenna hooked up? If your stereo has power then check the wiring to your speakers.

I have an ONKYO TX-SR606 receiver and I am trying to listen to FM radio using more than just the center channels. I have gone through the setup screens for the tuner and only Analog choices are available....

Hello,
In reality the correct way to listen to radio or any music source for that matter is in 2 channel stereo. What this means is that the front left and right will play and also the subwoofer. If you absolutely want all your speakers to play while listening to fm, than press the Multi channel button and set it to direct, or any other sound field that you may desire.
Good Luck

No, the CV speakers are very efficient speakers. That means they create a lot of volume for the amount of power. I will start by saying you will be relatively happy but not blown away.

The HK is an alright HT receiver (very new and feature loaded). It makes a rather weak stereo receiver for it is made for a home theater environment. If you only have a pair of speakers (optimal for music listening) then you have paid for a bunch of other channels that will remain dormant. You would be best off to get a very high-power stereo receiver or integrated amp instead of your HK.

CV speakers are built to blast, but they sounds pretty good at the same time.

Feel free to ask me any audio related question, I've worked in the industry for a good part of my life.

Thanks!

Subwoofer heard when only B speakers selected

This is really weird. Normally, the subwoofer must be turned off when you turn on B speakers. But, hold on.. I have recently tried to do the same thing as you do, and the result is the same as yours. The problem is that you have to turn off A speakers completely when you activate Bs. If you have an A/B Speakers switch, first push the A to turn them off, after that press "B" to listen to music downstairs. I hope it works.
