My hp photosmart 3100 series scanner driver never communicate with my desktop i dont have cd to re install the driver

In case you dont have the CD, you can download the drivers from the internet for FREE.

Visit the above link from HP Official support. Select the Operating System you have on your PC and download the required Drivers/ Software.

Kindly install the scanner software for printer the driver software cd just re install it will install the scanner software and make sure in device manager there is not other usb device listed if it is there just remove it. And refresh it in will automatically install the driver.

Install the CD supplied with the printer
Connect the printer and the computer using supplied USB cable
Switch one the printer
Then press the SCAN button on the printer, It will automatically open a scanning software on the computer.
Then place the document or picture you want to scan and click on SCAN button on the screen.

The software should have been on the CD that came with the scanner. Typically, you need to install the driver from the CD first before connecting the scanner. If you don't have the CD, you can get the drivers from the HP website. If you inadvertently attached the scanner before installing the drivers, detach the scanner, uninstall any drivers related to this device, reboot, reinstall drivers, and attach scanner.

It's the drivers sometimes they are for the series notnecessarily for your printer. I personally prefer to use the disc that came withthe printer rather than use Windows. Have you got a disc that came with the printer as the drivers need to be re-loaded. You could also go to the manufacturers web site and download the drivers from there.
