But have you tried it NAKED?

Generally speaking, an amp attempts to protect itself from heat, shorts, overloads and operator exuberance by refusing to turn on or stay on.

Overloads can be from excessive periods of high output or marginally low impedance loading by the speakers; and shorts would be wiring issues or a speaker blowing up.

You should be able to feel if it's hot. WHY is it overheating? Make sure it has sufficient ventilation on all sides and that vent holes are not blocked by dust balls. Ensure the fan (if equipped) is running as designed (some only operate on demand). Clean dust and debris from it.

If the amp comes back on after cooling, you're lucky. They only have so many self-protection cycles in their lives so continuously resetting or cycling their power without addressing the cause can do more harm than good.

If it protects immediately on a cool power up you should disconnect the speaker connections and try it 'naked'. If it comes up then diagnose which lead(s) are shorted. If it does not come up the problem is internal and should be left to an experienced and competent hands-on tech.

Check for loose speaker connections at the speaker as a possible root cause for intermittent shutdown.

Pioneer vsx1020 wont turn on with telly,if I unplug 15 min from power point does but when turn off telly turn off amp which is good, but if I turn on once again the telly, amp wont turn on

If your Pioneer VSX-1020 receiver is not turning on along with your television, here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try:
  1. Check the power connections: Ensure that the receiver is properly plugged into a power outlet and that the power cable is securely connected to the back of the unit. Also, check if the power outlet is functioning properly by plugging in another device.
  2. Reset the receiver: Perform a soft reset by turning off the receiver, unplugging it from the power source, and waiting for about 15 minutes. Then, plug it back in and turn it on. This can help reset any temporary glitches or issues with the receiver's electronics.
  3. Check the remote control settings: Verify that the remote control is properly set up to control both the television and the receiver. Make sure you have followed the instructions in the receiver's manual for programming the remote control to work with your specific television brand.
  4. Test with a different HDMI cable: If you are using an HDMI connection between the receiver and the television, try using a different HDMI cable to rule out any potential cable issues. Sometimes, a faulty cable can prevent the devices from properly communicating.
  5. Update the firmware: Visit the Pioneer website and check if there are any firmware updates available for your receiver model. Updating the firmware can sometimes resolve compatibility issues and improve overall performance.
  6. Contact customer support: If the issue persists, it may be best to contact Pioneer's customer support for further assistance. They can provide specific troubleshooting steps or advise on whether the receiver may require servicing or repair.
Remember to consult the receiver's manual for additional troubleshooting steps and to ensure you are following the correct procedures for your specific model.

How to reset Pioneer VSX-AX3 with no power?

It is not recommended to attempt to reset a device with no power. If the power is off, the device will not be able to respond to any commands or perform any actions.
If your Pioneer VSX-AX3 is not turning on or functioning properly, there are a few things you can try before attempting to reset it:
  1. Make sure the device is properly plugged in and that the outlet is functioning properly.
  2. Check the power cord for any damage, such as frayed wires or loose connections.
  3. If the device is connected to a surge protector or power strip, try plugging it directly into a wall outlet.
  4. Try a different power cord or outlet to eliminate the possibility of a problem with the cord or outlet.
If none of these steps help, you may need to have the device repaired or replaced.

How to program my sanyogxdb remote to w ok rk my pioneer elite vsx 33 rece v er

To program your Sanyo GXDB remote to work with your Pioneer Elite VSX 33 receiver, you can try the following steps:
  1. Turn on the Pioneer Elite VSX 33 receiver manually using the power button located on the receiver itself.
  2. Hold down the "Code Search" button on your Sanyo GXDB remote until the LED light on the remote stays lit or blinks.
  3. Press the "TV" or "DVD" button on the remote, depending on which device mode you want to program the receiver to.
  4. Enter the corresponding code for Pioneer receivers. You can find a list of Pioneer remote control codes in the instruction manual that came with your Sanyo GXDB remote or by searching online. Enter the code using the number buttons on the remote.
  5. Point the remote at the Pioneer receiver and press the "Power" button. If the receiver turns off, it means the remote has been successfully programmed. If not, repeat the process using a different code from the list until you find the one that works.
  6. Once the remote successfully turns off the receiver, press the "Code Search" button again to save the code. The LED light on the remote should turn off or stop blinking.
  7. Test the remote by pressing other buttons, such as volume up/down or channel up/down, to ensure it is functioning properly with your Pioneer Elite VSX 33 receiver.
If you're still having trouble programming the remote, consult the instruction manual that came with the Sanyo GXDB remote or contact Sanyo customer support for further assistance.

Pioneer VSX-D412 directv remote code

I also have the VSX D412 and DirectTV. My DirectTV remote controls the D412 fine, but I did have the same problem you're experiecing with a Sylvania flat screen that the remote wouldn't operate. I corrected my problem by turning the TV off, then back on using the TV's remote, then telling the DirectTV system that I didn't know the model number and let the system search for the code. Hope this helps.

Pioneer VSX-D509S keeps shutting off

Aside from any intrinsic problem with your receiver, the usual suspects are;
1) Poor receiver ventilation. 2) Very high levels of bass. 3) Shorts in the speaker wiring. 4) A rubbing loudspeaker voice coil.

I turn on receiver Pioneer vsx d608, then few seconds later screen flashes "poweroff", then shuts off by itself

Check all speaker wiring for shorts. If nothing is found, unit obviously has circuit problems, have serviced.
