I have a f9 and am having a problem....every time i turn to machine on, it is telling me to fill the water portion (i push the button, it makes the noise but no water comes out). this time, right before this occurred, i had installed a new water filter specifically to their instructions... some water came out of the steamer but now nothing and i can't get it to clear..
any ideas (besides sending it to repair since i brought it overseas with me to Micronesia) please????
I had the same problem, it told me to fill the water portion but when I pushed the button it would not clear. I called customer service and spoke with a technician. He told me to turn off and unplug the machine, remove the grounds drawer and reach inside the machine behind the plastic chute that hangs down in the middle. There is a metal disk mounted on an angle with a raised dimple in the center. The disk is the size of the discarded grounds wafers. The dimple in the middle is a sensor. Some times the accumulation of oils, coffee grounds and water leaves a residue on the disk that can short out the sensor. After locating the sensor and memorizing its position reach in with a paper towel and wipe off the residue. It works best to use a dampened towel and the a dry one. You will remove a substantial film of residue from the disk. I have done this numerous times and it has never failed to work. p.s The technician also advised me that the problem is more likely if you have your grind set too fine.
On my machine, I found a plugged fitting on the steam vavle. You do have to remove the side covers to service this. I removed the valve(make sure the power is UNPLUGGED), and took off the metal fittiona and found green corrosion(brass or copper). i unplugged the fitting with a needle. Put it back together and descaled the machine. Works well now.

I called customer service and spoke with a technician. Was told to remove the filter (place it in bowl of water so it won't dry out) and then press the steam button and wait for it to cycle. Repeat this procedure for up to 15 minutes. When water actually starts coming out, replace filter and you're good to go. For me it took about 8 cycles before water flowed and error message disappeared.
Was also advised to wipe down the recess where water container sits to remove any calcium.
If that doesn't work she said to unplug the machine and let it sit for an hour, and then plug in and try again.
For me, continuing to hit the steam button did the trick...hope this helps!

My machine has never been used but is one year old. Filter is NOT installed. Machine will not fill! Always says"fill system water portion".
I have the same problem, No water, no steam, new filter... Just said Fill System.
Can anyone tell me what the fix is, and what tools are required.
Thanks
