Hello, I am sorry about your issue. Did you make any changes to the output resolution on the Wii. The output must be at 480i for the receiver to up-convert to HDMI. If there is a problem with the receiver I suggest a work around by connecting the component [red, blue, green] video outputs to the TV and the audio connections [red, white] to the receiver. Thank you, Onkyo USA
SOURCE: No video throught HDMI output
press set up go option number 1 then go hdmi monitor and input yes. then press set up again
SOURCE: No surround sound from my PS3 through the Onkyo 5100. Video OK
Unfortunately only the higher end Onkyo Reciever pass audio over HDMI for sound. 605,705,805,905 exc. Your reciever will carry Video over HDMI but you will need a digital optical cable for sound.
thanks.

Go to settings on PS3 and sound settings and set them to HDMI.
If the above did not work, try a auto reset, with unit connected. Hold the PS3 power button down and wait until you hear 2 beeps. The PS3 will automatically search your input/output channels.

Pressed and held cable/sat button on front of unit until "Attenuate" came up. Changed setting from 0 to 2

This is NOT a fix, but have you considered that the compenent video from the Wii (or ANY A/V source) doesn't NEED to go to the Onkyo? In the real world, single points of failure are usually avoided . Your TV probably has several unused video inputs. The Wii audio SHOULD go to the Onkyo.
We've been doing that. But then we need to change the source INPUT on the TV Monitor and it's a pain for the kids. They are used to just pushing the GAME button on the Onkyo and off they go playing. Hopefully it's not related to the HDMI board issue.
