sonud likr the little switch in the door lock is stuck when you put it on self clean there is a switch that puts it in to clean and now its stuck try to give the top at front a light bang and see if that jars the switch if not that will ned to be located and eather replaced or buy passed

Replace the oven control module.It controls the bake and broil including clock and timer functions.

Yes you have to set the timer. If it is like my stove/oven you have to set the time to start and the time to complete. normal cleaning 3 hours heavy cleaning 4 hours light cleaning 2 hours.

how do I get my self cleaning to come on in my hotpoint stove

contact ge and order a touch pad but tell them it melted during self clean and they just might give you one its 1-800-ge-cares ask for customer relations not cust service

Have you tried to contact General Electric

Sometimes in self clean it can burn out the element.  Need to check the element with an ohm meter and see if it shows resistance.  If it shows open then the element is bad.  If it shows resistance then the element is ok.  Next see if you are getting 220 volts to the element when in bake mode.  If you are not getting 220 volts then the control is bad.
