You should make a connection from your PC to your router then connect your laptop to your PC's internet connection... you will need 2 dongles 1 in your PC and 1 in your laptop (unless you have it built in). get the connection on the PC first then find the connection from your laptop to your PC

Acer Aspire 5733 Wireless connection lost

Check the wireless router and high-speed modem.

If the two are not powered on, or if the Ethernet cable connected the two is not completely inserted into both connection ports, you are unable to access the Internet on the Acer Aspire One laptop computer.

Activate the wireless Internet connection on the laptop computer.

Right-click the wireless icon on the desktop, then choose "Enable" from the pop-up menu.

Without activating the wireless receiver on the Acer Aspire One, the laptop is unable to detect any wireless network.

Select the appropriate network you wish to connect to.

Your computer may be attempting to connect to a different Internet connection, preventing you from access the network you desire. Right-click the wireless icon, select "Search for available wireless networks," then choose the network you want to access.

Restart the computer.

The system may have booted and failed to detect the wireless receiver. Restarting the computer corrects this issue.

hope this helps

How to go wireless on laptop

You need three things
1) An Internet service provider. Once you sign up and agree to pay the fee they will provide the internet service.
2) A wireless router. This is a unit that receives your internet service by through a connection to your telephone line. Then it transmits a radio signal (wireless signal) that your laptop can receive.
3) A Wifi card in your laptop or an external USB Wifi Dongle. This is a radio or wireless receiver that picks up the signal from your router.
The router is usually security protected with a keycode. All you need to do is set up your Wifi card or dongle with the same keycode and you will be able to receive the internet wirelessly.
To check to see whether your laptop has a Wifi card already installed, do the following:
Click Start>Programs>Accessories>Communications>Network Connections> and look for "Wireless Network Connection." If you have this, then your computer has a Wifi card installed and ready to go.

I lost my password and lost the WGT624 installation CD, how can i get the router to work on a new laptop

If you have lost the password to access the router page then you have to reset the router

Ensure that you have all the details regarding your internet connection before resetting the router

If you reset the router you can run the smart setup wizard and get connected by entering correct information in all the pages of the wizard

If you are looking for the wireless password:

Access your router page ( Open Internet Explorer --> Type 192.168.1.1 and enter it--> Login name(default)-admin, Password(default)-password) --> GO to wireless settings, under Wireless settings you will find the wireless password.

Netgear Router WGR614 will not connect to internet

Hi,
Looks like when you reset the router you have lost all yur configuration and back to the default factory settings.

Bridge the 5100 first.
1. In your web browser browse to »192.168.0.1 This address will be located on a yellow sticker on the bottom of your modem.

2. The first screen will ask you for your Modem Access Code. This also will be located on the same yellow sticker.

3. Select Advanced from the blue buttons on the left.

4. Click the PPP locations button.

5. The modem may ask your for the Modem Access Code again. If so type it in again and click continue.

6. Select the radio button labeled, "Bridged Mode (PPPoE is not used)"

7. Click Save Changes.

8. A "PPP Location Warning" page will come up. Click "Change PPP Location."

9. A "Restart Needed" page will come up. Click "Restart"

10. Reboot your computer and and then connect the router

11.Configure the router for PPPoE using your ISP uid/pass

12.Configure your wireless using WEP

13.Desktop : Using Dell wireless client configure the client using the same SSID ,wep as configured in the router
Laptop : follow the same as desktop

(by default dell wirelesss client takes over the wireless configuration in dell pc.to disable it and use windows wireless client..control panel ->administrative tools -> services -> enabl2 wireless zero configuration)

14.after all configuration shut the desktop, laptop, router, mdm and pwr them in seg..first modem and then router and then your desktop or laptop

Pc works via ethernet cable but wireless laptop cannot see the network

I think you have lost your PPPOE internet connection. Reestablish the connection. If this is not the problem, click your wireless connection on the taskbar and search for your wireless device and reconnect. BPCS
