Just install itunes and you can sync calendar and contact to your iphone. You cannot sync the notes and tasks but. I have just bought an iphone and before I was using an HP ipaq like you. Everything is synced except for the notes and tasks. You cannot even see any word or excel files you had on your ipaq. Cheers

HP Ipaq h1940 won't sync with Vista

Hi. While holding power button, and pressing reset will do a hard reset to your PDA (reset the device to its factory default settings). So if your PDA is working well, don't do it. As for the syncronization with your Vista PC; Winodws XP uses the ActiveSync software for syncronization, and for Windows Vista, Microsoft developed a brand new syncronization software called "Windows Mobile Device Center". It can be downloaded here: (http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/en-us/help/synchronize/device-center-download.mspx). When you download/install this software to your PC, you should be able to connect your PDA to your PC without any problem, and definitely without changing any OS in your PDA or PC. Hope this helps.

Ipaq h2210 won't sync with desktop

Usually the simplest solution with Microsoft software such as active-sync is to uninstall it and install it again from scratch. When you reinstall it will ask you what programs you want to sync with, your old PIM software has been lowered in priority in favour of Outlook because MS think everyone should want to use it, so it's often easier to start using Outlook as your main PIM.

Ipaq 4100 problem syncronizing with outlook on new laptop

you are now using outlook 2003 , probably cache , this means all the email is on your laptop. when you sync it will sync all the email (thousands). initialise your ppc (back to factory default). set up the sync via usb cable. then sync via bluetooth . then you are fully sync. now setup an auto backup of your email data (daily). if after some time , you have sync problem again , initialise the ppc, restore from backup and you are back to sync (last full backup). try this , you will never need to do it all again.

Outlook

Check the setting on the ipaq, go to ActiveSync and tools, options, server and make sure calendar, contacts and inbox are not selected here. Then, put the pda in its cradle and let it do a sync, it should change the settings on the desktop and the (sync status on device) should disappear. I had a similar problem and after de-selecting these, everything worked fine.

Does the ipaq 2215 work with Outlook 2002?

Active Sync will work with many version of outlook. Your PDA interfaces with Active Sync. Certain versions of Windows Mobile software and/or PDA's require higher versions of active sync to sync correctly.

Try uninstalling, rebooting and reinstalling ActiveSync on the host. If you haven't yet upgraded to 3.6, maybe upgrading will clear up the problem.

Reinstallation of app onto iPAQ upon hard reset

In activesync under Tools/Add REmove programs you can check the box and click "ok" that will install the program. For the most part it's best to do it one program at a time. Obviously your PDA should be cradled or this. Most programs will re-install fine this way. Some programs though do require you to re-install from the installtion program directly since active sync doesn't pick up some important parts of the program. The two programs I have that require the special install are: CLC Journal since it has an outlook component and sets up a sync for the Outlook Journal. The Stowaway Keyboard driver since it had to ask me what language (the new driver doesn't do this...) The other 30 odd programs I have install straight from active sync.
